Description
This is a handmade leather cover for a notebook.The picture is painted with acrylics on leather crust, and "coated" with vinyl glue.
I made this few weeks ago but it was a present for Valerie ( ) so I didn't want to show it until she got it, that is today.
The gorgeous symbolism was taken from the design of Alexander's sword, which was originally thought by Valerie herself.
I allowed myself to adapt the symbols (bird, Sun, star and ribbon) into my own version of them, for the sake of the message I wanted to convey, and of composition as well.
The dawning sun is for a very new beginning
The phoenix for a spirit of friendship that is going to live forever through every trouble
The star is the guide to keep our direction, and
The Ribbon is the strength that allows us never to lose our guide.
This is my Spell of Friendship, a statement of my will, a hope for the future to come, made with a lot of love.

I used a normal notebook (well... one of my dearest ones, which I bought in Ireland, but anyway, it's a normal notebook) and made the cover so that the light-cardboard cover of the notebook can be slid into some slit/pocket on the inner side of the cover. This way when the notebook is over, you can change it with a new one. ^^
