Description So yeah, it's been a busy month. I heard about "Dinovember" early on, and I had to jump on, of course, but I haven't had the chance to make one dinosaur picture a day as I had hoped. First, I had a convention to go to, then a new girlfriend from said convention (happy, happy joy, joy). She's encouraged me to write more often because she enjoys writing too. And then the attacks on Paris just...well that was the sad point of my month even though I've never been to France and I don't have a drop of French blood in my body. Still, I had to get something out, and I recently, and by that I mean a month ago, saw a documentary on Nanotyrannus. It pointed to evidence that it was its own species, and not just a juvenile Tyrannosaurus rex. I told my girlfriend (who also likes dinosaurs, so this gets better and better) that if T. rex was like a bear, then these guys were the wolves of their ecosystem. This is why they have "wolfish" colors. IΒ also thought, "Everyone loves tyrannosaurs," so why not? Finally, on the bottom I put in semi-accurate size comparisons between the two. I say "semi-accurate" because I didn't have my sources with me at the time. I was in the mechanic shop getting my car's oil changed. Like I said, it's been a busy month.

Well man, Jonas Hakkens told me about that growth spurt thing. Having this in mind, it would be possible for Jane to be a juvi T. rex because it would get many, many changes on a short period of time.

This does not exclude the possibility of T. rex having voexisted with an unknown albertosaurine.

Maybe after another 30 years they would agree on something...

But this is paleontology ! It takes a very very looong time

At least there's a possibility for new fossils; unlike most dinosaurs at Africa

Sorry it took me a while to respond, but what's going on with African dinosaurs? Is the political unrest getting in the way of fossil hunting?

Political unrest ? It's a daily thing in North Africa; especially Arab states !
I wish it would be 'that' simple; the political unrest has several types; most famous Isis, th 'arab spring', other extremist groups, the illegal fossil extraction, the smuggling, the beheading... It's an endless list !

I said I had hope for future dinosaur; especially; spinosauroid discoveries from Africa...
Now I don't !!
We probably will never found a true fossil of a spinosaurus or a sigilmassasaurus...

If a paleontologist or a zoologist group goes to North Africa now...
I am afraid they (probably) never -- ever -- be heard again !

The only available option is... Black Market right now !

The most I've heard about is the Isis crap, of course, and there was something on the news about attacks in Egypt, again. Then in East Africa there's some lowlife dictator that's funding his violent uprising with poached elephant ivory, so it won't be long before he thinks of black market fossils. So yeah...I know what you mean.
