This is my entry for the contest being held by andThey had the theme "Light and Dark". This was my original idea.
My interpretation. I believe that for there to be light there has to be dark, and visa versa. Same goes for many other things; there has to be wrong for there to be right, hate for there to be love, etc.
I'm actually incredibly pleased with this. Its definitely something different and I enjoyed this so much. I'm probably actually going to take this into some form of traditional media later on.
The bird is not meant to be anatomically correct, so please no comments about that.
I love ribbons.

This file was massive while I was working on it. I think the dimensions were like 2500 x 3500. Big.
I still might do some adjustments on this piece.

Oh woh.. that's nice. I would think using the mirror tool for making the bird (not necessarily the ribbons) would be really difficult, but you pulled it off nicely. Well done!

I do love the ribbon, especially when it's matched in the soft effect of the painting. It is indeed straight from a dream. There is something that's automatically ancient about the rendering, it rivals a phoenix for it's beauty.

Aw, another entry! Very impressive artwork, I can't stop looking at all the ribbons, must have been a hell of a work. But it certainly paid off! It's got something magical over it, as if you try to catch a dream. Maybe it's because the ribbons make a sort of twirling system, connecting light and dark. I think it's also about perfect balance between those two counterparts. And thanks for taking the time to actually think very well about the theme.
