Description i submitted an earlier version of this image to my scraps, since it was a quick unfinished experiment (based on previous work) intended for a glitchy dual-screen animation project. having just found an improved version on my hard disk, i thought i'd submit it to my proper gallery because i've been so inactive/busy/lazy...

as usual this took forever to render (using my beloved 3d renderer, allura) because of all the mad fx coded in there... no postprocessing, i'm happy with the grainy look.

Oh I must have missed this fine pixel melange (). How do you define "forever" exactly?

"forever" is about 2/3 days

thx for the fav, it's another scrap though!

is that roughly 0.6666666666666666666666666666666666667 days, or 2 or 3 days?

anyways, I love your scraps!

it shows some potential i hope and yeah it's unfinished... but i gotta move forward instead of re-rendering this!

Lovely work as usual! I'm always happy to see one of your submissions in my inbox, you put so much heart (and obviously brain!!) into each of your works.

aww thank you very much this one isn't as polished as i'd like and will probably be moved to my scraps, but it's an interesting render which will hopefully be used by others as a dual-screen wallpaper

hmmm....

you should split your work over at least two computers xD

One where you can work all the time and an other one which stands somewhere where it doesn't annoy too much (in case of loud fans) and may run day and night to work through a queue of planned fractal renders (exportet from the other computer)

Very nice fractal

meh, i'm just playing around, it's not serious at all - if it were the first thing to do is actually finish what i start, nevermind doing it systematically

Lyc as always you're forging your own path mate. That you can stand to code this sort of thing makes you a better man than I - I'd never want to go near a compiler again if I could help it.

The noise does two things to this piece, I feel. 1) Almost completely hides its "computer generated" nature, we can tell that it is, but the end result still - I feel - comes across pretty... organic? 2) Makes it visually not dissimilar to a distant hill-top view of an alien/futuristic city-scape.

I hope that wasn't all a load of bollocks I just wrote by the way!

Top marks sir, fantastic work as always!

not at all, i'm pleased that others also find the grain to benefit the image! thanks for your kind words

as for renderer programming, the real adventure is soon to come

This is very alluring.
Was Allure also used to generate the initial fractal, or is it purely a rendering program?

*allura

the whole thing is done in allura, it's just a program that runs and renders the image with little user interaction (update preview, save, load, quit).

Thank You!
The first thing i want to tell you is that these renders are really AMAZING!!
I have the impression that this is a step further into fractal-art; the same feeling I have for the imgs produced by KrzysztofMarczak..
..
I'm trying to understand what kind of sw it is..
No graphical interface if I understood well..
..questions...
Is it similar to xenodream/Incendia or maybe apo's Flam3/Flam 4?
What kind of command you type-in to start a render?
Can You import a 3d mesh into it?
Is it possible to render a sequence of imgs?
..
Do You have in mind to share the sw in the future?()
Thank You so much in advance!
