The foliage is wonderful with the moonlight glimmering on the leaves.

you know, even when you aren't painting fantasy art, it still has that fantasy look to it...which is a really good think. it means it is just like,....otherworldly beautiful.

Thank you so much for your comment. This is one of my favorites of my finished work, but it's so dark I don't think many people have noticed it.

I think that's why I like it so much, it's calm, still and quiet. Not exactly spectacular!

I'm really glad for your comment, thanks!

Nah, nothing wrong with it! I love to look at other people's work...but in a way that's the problem. There are just so many people out there who excell at it. It's a bit intimidating.

I had a look at your gallery, DMofS Lovely stuff!

Thanks for the comment YM...I probably will have to explore a bit more into this type work, but I feel a bit nervous trying something new. It was interesting, though

Hi Blumgrl, thanks for the comment I'm not sorry I tried something like this at all, just a bit nervous about heading into a direction where there are so many seasoned artists. Anyway, this thing grew from a boring daytime landscape and took a strange turn halfway through. I kept wondering "where the heck is this thing going?" while working on it. It was weird :0.

I suppose you're one of those realist people (lol). I understand, but sometimes I think you must just take a quick break and work freely...
While people like me need to work more on realism.

Trust me, keep going. You've some great stuff going on!

Thanks for the encouraging words blumgirl You're right, we all need to find balance in our work. I think I'm working too tightly at the moment, something my teachers back in college used to harrass me about. I'm taking your words seriously, it's good advice! I painted a waterfall scene after thinking about what your wrote...and tried not to get so tied into the details with it. It was a relief to work on something less intense!

Oh, wow, I'm glad I inspired you so Sorry I didn't have time to comment right away; I'll get too it.

Yes, I notce how some artists (I'm not excluding myself) tend to get too worked up about small details... In the end, it looks just as nice if you really don't think about what you are doing- I often notice that it works wonders to listen to music while working- classical is my favorite. That's just me, because music can change my mood really easily and classical keeps me hard at work yet happy xD

Have fun
