Haha wow, Gracie, thank you for these really sweet words, even though I'm not entirely sure that I deserve all this praise But I'm super glad that you're liking this thing, that means a lot to me!
And oh yeah, I definitely wiped out the purples...and some other high saturated colours. As I was going over this piece after not having touched it for two years, I sure asked myself a couple of times what the hell I had been doing there...but it was interesting how quickly I spotted all these things.
Now I think it certainly has more depth. I learned to push back things and to knock back detail where it isn't necessary. And hopefully I managed to add more story and drama to this I'm certainly glad that the mountain climbing feel comes across.
Oh and yeah, there's a point to your critique...it was a bit difficult to give it the proper shadow, considering the angle of light and the angle of the plane...you simply don't see much of it...but I do think now that maybe the far wing could cast a more definite silhouette, yeah...that was tricky
Again, thanks so much, you really brought a smile to my face there

Oh sheesh. Yes, you have no choice...
You know these long paint breaks... Sounds like the break I took with Great Hike, only you took a much longer vacation.
I have a piece I have been working on for 5 years now, though, and it's still not done, so I guess that one counts too. And I doubt I'll finish it anytime soon with all the stuff on my plate.
I think at some point, every dedicated artist has "art in the closet"... something too large to contemplate all at once, or too ambitious for the current skillset, but something that can be picked up again later once you know how to handle it...
There are paints that do better to rest for a time, I think, and let the subconscious work on them first before the paint goes down - makes the actual painting process quick and much, much more fun.
Well, I dunno really. I guess each work is different. I just enjoy the process! And seeing yours!

This is great. Snow, rocks, light, the feel of wind and the freeze and the scenario's eerie suspense, just wow.
I felt instantly reminded of a plane crash scenario I had to scribble once for a game, and now I'm rightfully ashamed of what I scratched together back then. Β

Somehow reminds me of Tintin in Tibet.
When Tintin, Capt. Haddock and the sherpas (incl. Tharkey) go out to rescue their friend Chang who is the only survivor of a plane crash in the Himalayas!
After they encounter the yeti only Tintin, the Captain and Tharkey press on to finally arrive at the plane!!
Great work!!

Just a heads up excuse my grammar was off so bad because it was 12:00/1:00 A.M. last night when I wrote that.
Second lol let me know when you need a description I'd be glad too, and maybe in return you could make me a picture? Since I need pictures for my comic and I suck at making anything on the computer...interested?

Brilliantly done! Reminds me of the scene in "Tintin in Tibet" when Tintin, the Captain and Tharkey find the wreakage of Chang's plane.
