I've always thought that if I propse to my girlfriend, I'd use a ring like this. Do you sell them? Just curious...

I am amazed that this used to be a spoon. The metal work dazzles me. The stone is the sky to me mixed with ocean water. I can't say I have ever seen anything like it because I haven't. I hope you continue your work in this area because its just that astonishing to me.

I would love this ring forever, If I could buy it, as It is difficult to believe that this was once a spoon.
However, I'm dirt poor, so I - wait, three dollars? *decides to keep an eye on the etsy link.*

Lovely. Just enough oxide so that the pattern of the handle isn't lost, but at the same time it doesn't overwhelm the delicate color of the moonstone. Very well done.

aw, lucky i'd love to have moonstone as my birthstone! i'm garnet though. i used to really hate garnets, until i discovered that there are actually some really pretty garnets that nobody ever talks about for some reason (rhodolite garnets are a gorgeous pinky-purple! hessonite garnets are orange! tsavorite garnets are bright green! why does everyone always have to use the muddy brick ones?! /rant) i bet you get some awesome birthstone jewelry

Sadida25 In reply to metalsmitten [2010-12-30 02:29:19 +0000 UTC]

haha well look at that variety! That's pretty cool, you have options!
Yeh, it's kind of cool because apparently June has like 3 stones- pearl, moonstone and alexandrite (i believe). I should look up what alexandrite looks like...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

metalsmitten In reply to Sadida25 [2010-12-30 02:47:19 +0000 UTC]

there's actually even more garnets than that, hehe, demantoid garnet is super cool too, it's kind of a dull greenish color but has sparklie things inside the stone... rare and expensive but awesome /stonegeek

natural alexandrite is reeeeeally rare, it's a color changing stone which is pretty awesome. turns from dark green to purple, depending on if you look at it in sunlight or artificial light. but a nice one at a decent size (natural, not lab-created) will cost $$$.

that's actually why june has so many options, because pearls are too fragile for most people to want in rings, but alexandrite is so rare and expensive that they wanted to give a happy medium option too, hence moonstone
