Thanks. I wish I had found this guy when I was in AZ a couple months ago, but this is a friend's captive that I shot.

You should get one. Everybody should have one. haha.
I've kept and bred hundreds of snakes over the past 15 years or so. It's a great hobby.

I plan to get one! Well, actually, I'd like to get more than one, haha. Oh, that's really neat. Do you have a favorite kind of snake?

I care about venomous snakes more than nonvenomous snakes, then I care about colubrids. I have no interest in keeping or working with any boid species besides Woma and blackheaded pythons. AS far as my favorites, I'm going to go with a few different arboreal vipers, Cape cobras, and South African puffing snakes. These are all snakes I have been able to work with and I'm planning on owning and working with them again whithin the next 6 months or so. I'm also a huge hognose fan though and they're one of my main breeding interests.

Hm... interesting. Is there any particular reason why you have no interest in boids? Well, no interest except for the two kinds you mentioned, anyway. Vipers are really cool, I like them. I will say, though, that while I think venemous snakes are amazing and have a lot of respect for them, I'd never want to work with or own them. I'm not brave enough for that, haha. I love watching them and seeing other people handle them, but as for handling them myself... no thank you. Oh, the hognose, yeah! Those guys are neat.

I just think boids are kinda boring. Haha. Most of them just sit there... Most of the nonvenomous snakes that I care more about are active hunters, for one. The reason I like Womas and blackheadeds is for that reason. They're a lot more colubrid like than any other boids.

Aw, poor boids. Haha, that's understandable, though. I'm basically just a fan of all kinds of snakes, so... yeah.

Thanks. They spend most of their time "swimming" through sand, so the pointed snout helps, and the countersunk lower jaw helps keep them from ingesting substrate.

Agreed. Wait until I get pics of the shovelnose we got. It's kind of similar. Slightly same kind of face. It's about twice as long, but the same girth. I think it's a much cooler snake.
