I hadn't drawn any medieval plague doctors in a while, so I fixed that~ <:Related content

This style of Plague Doctor is not a Medieval innovation. The beaked masks and waxed overcoats are a product of the Early 17th Century, and is attributed to Doctor Charles de Lorme. It was invented in response to the concerns of other physicians potentially catching the plague via airborne sources.
The Middle Ages ends about a century prior, between the 15th and 16th Centuries.

My personal head cannon:
The yellow guy is the only one of the three that wants to actually help people, but he is held back by his general incompetence, and extreme nativity.
The blue guy is the leader, and uses his role as a doctor as a front to conduct his strange experiments, with the ultimate goal of taking over the world (falling at that, the local city,) with a army of his creation. He is extremely egotistical, and his vision greatly exceeds his abilities.Β
The red guy is the only one of the three with any "street smarts", and use them to scam, swindle, steal and generally con everyone he meets. He plays along with the delusions of the other in the hopes of making it rich as a doctor, despite his lack of medical knowledge.Β

Well well well, look at what we got here: the bumbling idiot, the grouchy third wheel, and the brainiac leader who just can't get anything done because of the other two. I wonder, what possible shenanigans could this trio get themselves into..Β

They look like characters from some comical animated short. You got the goofball, the serious/grouchy guy, and the straight man. Classic combo. I'd love ot see what sort of silent comedic hijinx they get into.
