Description
Watercolors on 140lb Arches CP paper.Thank you
People used to be my only art interest. On DA, Iβve discovered animals and flora that inspired me. After painting animals and flowers, I feel a little rusty doing humans, please give me constructive critique to bring back my interest
Thanks for all comments/favs

What made you think so? I love to paint different ethnic groups. If you look in my gallery, I've painted many races, anything that catches my attention

I hope my asking if you were Japanese didn't offend you. You just captured their essence so well. (JL)

I would have been silly to feel offended, no, not at all. And now I feel happy you think I captured my subject's essence. When I first started out, I thought likeness was the essence, but as I progress, I feel satisfied when somebody tells me I capture their essence and their soul. Thank you for the compliment

i love how your paintings are all so full of life. it shows you enjoy doing them
and i agree with ~ACW-IV on what he said about courage. that's something that i guess i lack when it comes to anything that i create. it goes so far that sometimes i'm even afraid to start a drawing, convinced beforehand that it won't come out right.
that's why artists like yourself are a real inspiration for me with their work AND "courage"

Yes,you're quite observant, I love all the paintings I do. First, I cannot paint if I am not inspired. And once I like the subject, everything flows, whether it will be successful or not But one advice for you, do it and learn from mistakes. I was also very hesitant to do a drawing or painting when I first started, it was the people encouragement and the exposure to other wonderful art that help me improve my style.
Thank you very much for your support of my art.

many thanks for advice
it's like i need plenty of outside motivation and encouragement, cos it doesn't yet come from inside. i guess it will when i get more confident and with practice

Sorry for the late response, I still have a lot of messages unanswered That's true, self confidence is very important. You have to first believe in yourself that you could do it. Negative feelings do not help and practice is also the key

no problem, i'm like that with my inbox deviations - when i woke up this morning there were almost 450 waiting for me. it's a good thing i don't plan any vacations!
right now i'd rather practice drawing than work..

beautiful! I like the contrast on her face showing light. Japanese art just has some sort of amazing beauty to them and this comes through this piece.
