I would have been silly to feel offended, no, not at all. And now I feel happy you think I captured my subject's essence. When I first started out, I thought likeness was the essence, but as I progress, I feel satisfied when somebody tells me I capture their essence and their soul. Thank you for the compliment

i love how your paintings are all so full of life. it shows you enjoy doing them
and i agree with ~ACW-IV on what he said about courage. that's something that i guess i lack when it comes to anything that i create. it goes so far that sometimes i'm even afraid to start a drawing, convinced beforehand that it won't come out right.
that's why artists like yourself are a real inspiration for me with their work AND "courage"

Yes,you're quite observant, I love all the paintings I do. First, I cannot paint if I am not inspired. And once I like the subject, everything flows, whether it will be successful or not
