Lightsaber gotta start somewhere

PMR (Phased Modular Rifle) was the original designation of the X-1 KAR, back when my idea was an energy weapon rather than Gauss-based kinetics. This image - and info - actually needs updating.

me gusta, but the amount of power required would be phenomenal. the V-Non battery back is either far more powerful than you have described it to be in your other weapons, or this thing has a life of less than a millisecond. look to the Star Wars wikki for information on the development of the light-saber, and know that there is a reason droid power cores are useful long after the droid is.

The vespomide in this battery pack is in its liquid form, which releases a lot more energy when tapped at the expense of being somewhat unstable (liquid V gets used at one point in a missile warhead and rivals a small tactical nuclear weapon in yield).

Most of the weapon battery packs are nanoscale and solid and can provide power for months of continuous use, while the Sentinel's pack takes up much of the grip and would see limited usage (doesn't need to be active to act as a sword, but has that edge in case it needs it).

Vespomide is essentially uranium on steroids, with basketball-sized pieces capable of powering starships through several FTL trips.

Applied phlebotinum in every sense of the word

nice material you have there. similar to uranium? kindof... most modern tank armors are a steel-depleted uranium composite......

[material] + depleted Vespomide =

It's a bit of a mixture. It starts like a reddish oil in the ground and is then refined into semi-stable gelatin or a stable solid. Solid state is the most used, from nano batteries to power station and starship fuel. For those they put a lump of it into a reactor and then hit it with lasers to release its energy, burning it away until refuelling. The gelatinous stuff gets used as a more powerful alternative to explosive fillers where size and weight is an issue. The liquid is only used when a large amount of power is needed from a small source, but it doesn't last too long and has the aforementioned risk of going kaboom. It is used as an alternative to nuclear tipped missiles and bombs in that it can provide comparable destruction without the residual nasties, like a massive fuel air bomb.

but but... it's the nasties we enjoy so much. isn't it precious? yes, it is precious, it is the nasties we's enjoy so much...
