Photo taken in August, 2016 @ Eureka Texel, The NetherlandsIt might seem a bit ridiculous for two Dutch girls to be rather fascinated (read: a little obsessed
) with Turacos. But there's just something about these colorful birds that really gets to us. They always appear close to another in looks, but they're really incredibly different. These past couple of years, Turacos are popping up in quite a lot of zoos, but they're often the same ones. Which is why we spent our Summers at those zoos known to have A LOT of different Turacos
They're often kept in carefully constructed enclosure, with rather small fences so photographing is always a challenge - except for those few times they're allowed to fly freely. Those are the best 
This one was a bit high up, but another one to cross off of our list to have gotten a decent shot of

Originates from Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
