chinese ink painting and calligraphy on rice paper.based on a story from "A Record of History- the Chronicles of Assassins" 《史记·刺客列传》， compiled by the renowned historian Sima Qian 司马迁 of the West Han dynasty:
Jingke 荆轲, set off for a mission to assassinate the ruthless emperor Qin 秦王 hoping to help his best friend, the crown prince of Yan Taizi Dan 燕太子丹 to save his state from Qin's invasion.
as Taizi Dan sees his friend to the river Yi, Jingke sings:
风萧萧兮易水寒，壮士一去兮不复还！
the wind howls as river Yi chills,
the brave one leaves and will never return!

i found my inspiration for this painting from the atmospheric photo shot of stone bridge of Kokkorou in Greece:
as ~KirlianCamera asked, "if you imagine a horse crossing it which direction would it be going? Left to right or right to left?"

Your form of writing using the calligraphy style cao shu(correct me if I'm wrong) is really nice. I like the painting and the colors. What types of ink did you use aside from the usual black ink?

chinese calligraphy ink is not the usual black ink. [link]
it looks like this in the dry state. when in use, it has to be ground with water on a stone plate. [link]
if you want to save the trouble of grinding the ink stick, liquid form in bottle is available for sale too. as i am the lazy type i use the liquid form
this type of black ink is very opaque and yet fluid. it is the perfect companion of rice paper.
