Description Well... okay, not really dragons, but, the chinese used to think that dnosaur bones were dragon bones, and well... it's a dragonfly.

My Deinonychus, which I really should have waited to do until after I got some reference. But he's cute and all so... we'll just call him a dromeasaurid so people won't laugh at me too hard.

AW! he`s cute! of coarse I wouldn`t mess with any therepod dinosaur! No one realy knows what Deinonychus looked like when it was alive, but your reproduction`s excellent! great work!!

The head is too small and the tail should be stiff... alright, you had no ref to draw it, but anyway you got it quite fine. Just try with an accurate ref - if you like dinos, I can give you URL's of forums where you can request accurate refs to draw dinosaurs.

The feathers are pretty awesome, especially on the arms: you got the wing-like structure perfectly right! Good job with the background also.

Nice try, man. Go on!

Actually, for not having reference pictures, this Deinonychus is QUITE good. Even if one had references, I don't think they could get any better than this (and I mean that in a good way). This is very photorealistic. Great job! Beautiful.

I do that all the time. Call it a dromaeosaur just because I'm pretty sure I've messed somethin' up! But yours looks great! I especially love the feathers. Those are hard for me to do.

This is really beautiful!! It seems like you're right there looking at the dinosaur. The trees and the dragonfly remind me of the display at my local public museum.

I added this to my favorites.

OMG OMG OMG *breathes* OMG OMG OMG!!!!!

You need to submit that to Dinosauricon!!! [link] Go to "Artist Index" then "Image Submission."

It's face, feathers, markings and claws make me so happy!! And you know how much I love the Deinonychus!

I really like the title, BTW. Have you seen the book "Unearthing the Dragon"? [link]

How many more exclaimation points can I put into this comment?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Nashoba-Hostina In reply to jadewolf926 [2006-01-22 05:25:11 +0000 UTC]

Oh, wow... I just may submit it but... holy god onna stick the other artists there are really really good O.o I'm flattered by the suggestion, if that makes any sense.

::Blushes:: Thank you hon... I'm really glad that you approve, since you DO love Deinonychus. There is much love for that particular dromeasaurid in this corner of the internet, isn't there?

And... ooh, no I hadn't seen that book. Oi, so many books that are so awesome!

jadewolf926 In reply to Nashoba-Hostina [2006-01-22 23:12:57 +0000 UTC]

Do submit! Don't think like that! Your piece is AWESOME. Plus, there's no hurt in trying

The moment I saw the end of your description I immediately thought of that book ^^

oh my stars, cute!
I love his colours, and I think he looks damn fine if you didn't have any reference.
Also, the bluring of the foreground tree branches and the background trees gets extra spiffy points for you.

This is the second time you've had a dromeasaurid and a dragonfly hanging out together, isn't it?

For the initial blocking, I had a book, but then I was stupid (Really stupid, actually)and didn't use the book after that.

::Grins:: The blurring is actually a computer effect... s'what I was up to when we were talking the other evening, actually.

::Laughs;: And yeah, it is. I really love putting them together for some reason.

I have to agree with Wolfsjal, I really like the effect. It makes you feel like you are observing the interaction rather than just a picture. Almost like you are there!

*nods* Blur, smudge, dodge, and darken/lighten have got to be my favourite tools when it comes to messing around with the computer.

Dragon flies are awesome. So I'm not going to complain in the slightest.
