Welcome to 'Murica, where:
If you're gay, you caused 9/11.
If you're atheist, you caused Sandy Hook.
If you get raped, it's your fault.
The national language is Ad Hominem.
That's why I fucking hate 'Murica.

Since I only understood 25% of what you just said, I will try my hardest to make you speak sense. Christians say, that the "atheists caused Sandy Hook" because we want freedom of speech and religion etc. And, most Christians are mostly jerks to atheists, saying that they're going to hell, and etc.

Truth is, even from the beginning of our country, from BEFORE the beginning of our country this was never the case. The Separatists that wanted to flee from the Church of England, and everyone else who wanted to get away from Catholicism. Separatists believed that America was basically God's way of saying "Okay, now give it another try. I believe in you, you idiots!" And any deviation from their religion was like spitting in Jesus's face. It got even worst with Calvinism, which basically said "God already knows who is going to heaven and hell, but you don't know if you're saved or damned until you die" which isn't a really healthy motivator to be a good person AT ALL.
When the Catholics came over they were treated like freaks. Only places like Pennsylvania and Rhode Island were liberal enough to let anyone practice what they wanted. Pennsylvania rocked, what with its Quakers and whatnot. Even though there's quite a bit of the American population that aligns itself as Catholic, people have a weird, almost primitive niggling little bit in their brain that goes off when Catholicism is mentioned "DANGER WILL ROBINSON DANGER WILL ROBINSON!"
And don't get me started on how much shit Muslims have gone through in the past decade. Mormons, ehh..who cares? They're weird, LOL

It's usually a human element that's at fault in things like that. But this is coming from one who avoids putting the blame on God to look at the real problem.

No one's to blame people. It happened that's the fact. God didn't send the shooter adn yes I BELIEVE in God, but MY God wouldn't send a shooter to shot children. He would let it happen, but it would make him sad to see the gunman make the choices. But that's my belief.

Hate to be picky, hope I'm not offending or anything, but how do you know that your god wouldn't do that? Throughout the bible he did plenty of killing himself, as well as commanding relentless slaughter of entire groups of people including babies and their animals. If we as humans cannot know what God knows, or what God's plan is, how can we say that we know what God would or wouldn't do? (if God exists, of course)

And we don't know if God actually did all those horrible things the bible. Men probably just made that up just to excuse themselves.

It's sad how people like to blame religions for all the violence in this world. That's like saying that every kill that happens is in the name of religion, or in the name of Atheism or something like that. It's so much more than just religion! Politics, economics, gun laws, people have to consider this crap when looking at murders or massacres or anything violent.

I think that it's difficult for people to accept those sorts of things because it would mean that life isn't as nice and organized as we'd like it to be... It muddies the world view, makes it confusing and even frightening... The concept of a personal God is necessary for some to create order from chaos, it seems. :/

That makes sense. People feel powerless and need control, which is understandable.
Fear and powerlessness can make people think pretty dangerous things I guess.
