The finished (or nearly finished, anyways) version of this: [link]I tried using charcoal for the darkest shading at one point...and then stopped when it looked like it was just messing up the pic a bit...

I love the maws you give your creatures . . . and all you need to do is change the eye shape a bit and you have a totally different looking creature . . . you should do that, just little studies of the same creature with different expressions . . .

But much graphite is good! I love graphite. It is a bit tedious due to its smudge factor though.. keeping up good light-dark contrast. As long as its not -too- pumeled in though, its still workable.. until the paper gives out. q:
And I aggree.. this is very nice. I am not used to your graphite drawings, but I really like this one ive seen so far. I love traditional media. Some of the shade areas in this are attractive.. and the detail obviously adds to that.
