Returning to the main characters of Aquaman’s story with the 7Sea Swordsmen in full glory!

The continent of Meropis was ruled by Arion, son of Elder gods Dainichi and Iki-Ryu. When his brother, Kompera sought to destroy his brother’s kingdom he laid siege to the major cities with monstrous creatures, mystically forged of the seven fundamental elements. Arion had seven swords forged of the mystical enhanced metal, Orichalcum and bestowed one to an inhabitant of each city to defend it. The swords were able to draw out the magical energies of the creature attacking their city, allowing the wielder to manipulate that element with the sword. Arion then used his considerable magical abilities to transport the wielder of each sword to defend the city against the elemental creature that was weakest to the element the sword had absorbed. From that point forward, the wielders, now referred to as The Sword of the city they defended, would train an apprentice (with newly crafted orichalcum training swords) to keep the cities protected. This was until Kompera returned with even more powerful monsters and succeeded in sinking the continent. Arion was able to save the lives of his citizens by converting the drowning inhabitants of each city into waterbreathers, and transporting the cities to new locations underneath the ocean. The cities have now become Kingdoms of their own, wishing to maintain their autonomy, with disputes and allegiances shifting like the tides over the years.

In the current age, The Swords are forced to unite once more when a host of Colossal Sea Creatures return to destroy the cities. The only thing capable of turning them back is the fabled Lost Trident of Poseidon. The Swords and their apprentices embark on a Quest to find the trident; not only to save their respective cities, but to determine who among them will wield the weapon and claim the title of High King of the Seven Sea Kingdoms.

The Cycle of Swords is the Strength/Weakness relationship they have to one another. The Swords are placed in order of the element they are weakest to, placed to the immediate right of them:

Lightning dispels Shadow > Earth grounds Lightning > Fire scorches Earth > Water douses Fire > Ice freezes Water > Wind shatters Ice > Shadow engulfs Wind.

- I wanted to show all of The Swords together for the first time. I will show the different incarnations of the group over time, similar to what I’ve been doing with The Batclan.

- This group represents them after locating the prize of The Poseidon's Trident Quest; after having fought amongst themselves to see who would wield the trident (Aquaman), and prior to returning to rid their kingdoms of the sea creatures.

- I also wanted to finally showcase exactly what the types of weapons were based on.
