You must hammer them when they are set up. They are like this:

I use rivets for leather works.Β  i buy them in the local leather shop.

And to think it's card-bored.
Have you tried or checked out Worbla? www.cosplaysupplies.com/store.… , it's more durable & "real" looking.
(Here is a fellow DA artist who made armor out of it, yayacosplay.deviantart.com/art…
(I made some armor too dymondstarr.deviantart.com/art… , but it's not as visually descriptive or well done as Yaya's )

Just a thought and a share.

This is really cool, it looks just like the armor on the show! Β I'm trying to make suit of armor for myself before the summer ends, but I have no experience other than a crappy helmet I created for an old Halloween costume. Β Any tips on working with cardboard?

i wish i could tell you what type of cardboard is useful for this, but i forgot its name.
Just don't use the regular corrugated cardboard if you wish to evade undesired textures.
And also, it doesnt have to be very thick.
