Description Acrylic on canvas board
Modern AU Painting. In a lot of fic Merlin tends to be cast as the arty one, but I was wondering what it might look like the other way around.

The title, "Northern Sky" was provided by the lovely "Phoebesmum" from this gorgeous Nick Drake song. [link]

last week I was talking in work to two women I work with about a dream I had the previous night...

"...And I was preparing an art exhibition for Noel Fielding (the Mighty Boosh) and it was in the dark cellar of this nightclub, and all his artworks were made of coloured neon tubes in various shapes and they were all covered in blood.  and then he handed me this small, thin, white plastic bag and when I opened it there was  lump of stringy meat inside it sitting in a large pool of blood, and he smiled and said to me "That's walrus meat, i thought you'd like it."

"Mmmm, " I continued, "it was a funny dream."

"Oooh, " they both said simultaneously, "I didn't realise that was a dream, I thought you were saying what you did last night."

"What?!?  No obviously not!"  ( I don't know what they think my life is like but it doesn't involve Noel Fielding and bags of walrus meat! )

 I have lots of very vivid and very odd dreams, but most of them are anxiety dreams.  I have a recurring dream where I'm standing on slippery, steel, metal-pole scaffolding in the night in the driving rain.  I'm so high up and it's so dark that I can't see how far away the ground is. The scaffolding is freestanding, so there is no building or windows to climb into.  And I have to try climbing down. But the poles are so far away from each other that I can't really reach each pole below me and have to really stretch and loosen my grip in order to get my toes onto the next pole below.  I hate that dream and I have it a lot.  

Just thought I'd over-share there.

At the moment I'm actually taking an indefinite break from Merlin/Arthur I'm afraid. Luckily there are so many good artists in the Merlin fandom that there is some gorgeous work being produced out there.

Yeah, I can't imagine Arthur in the series deciding to pick up a paintbrush.

Though in the fun little video challenge films that Colin and Bradley made to go with the series, Bradley was a FAR better artist than Colin. (although Colin's Wildren was cute in it's little fez, I'll give him that. )
