Description possibly the most recognized residence in United States history, quite a magnificent place, the building, the terrain, the atmosphere, its something everyone should experience

the place is really unique and a work of art indeed... but i must say that I don't think its the most recognized residence in United States history since i never seen it before and i am somewhat of a fan of architecture...

thanks for the comment...i suppose the faulty logic I used in deducing my description of the building was this: it is by Frank Lloyd Wright who by far is the most recognized and celebrated American architect in history, and it is considered his magnum opus, therefore, my opinion, or assumption perhaps, was that it was the most well known. also, a google image search for 'american architect' gives this building as the #1 result...i appreciate your comment and your gallery, you have some really nice work...take care

yeah, i agree, perhaps since the wonderful world of 3D rendering/animation is quite young, the selection of real/built architecture associated with it is limited...the possibilities though are obviously endless and i enjoy watching new design technology push new building technologies...it is quite fascinating to watch...especially being an intern architect right out of a-school...thanks again for the comment, take care

thanks for the comment....yes, Wright got started with Louis Sullivan, of Adler and Sullivan, who operated out of Chicago (see auditorium building); most of his work there is in Oak Park, at least most of his residential work...thanks again

Great photo............I absolutely love Fallingwater as well as all the design by the master. I had heard a few years back that Fallingwater was in dire need of some extensive repairs. Do you know if they were completed? I am such a big fan of Wright. I used to live near the largest collection of FLW buildings in a collection. Florida Southern College in Lakeland. While certainly not his finest work, I used to get goosebumps walking the campus and daydreaming about Wright, with his genius, his ego......his gift. Certainly not a person to try and fuck with......LOL. I also had the pleasure to do some lighting (Moonlighting) design work for 2 homes that are considered Wright, although they were designed by students of his. One of them is in St. Petersburg Fl, and I believe it to have been built just a few years after WW2. I wish I could remember the name of his student who built that house. Oh, and the name of my business is Fallingwater by david. I am a sculptor now for my livelyhood, primarily creating fountains........so it seemed appropriate for the work and in homage to the man.

I have rambled too much.........great photo of a great piece of art.

take care

Yes, actually the repairs have been completed as of spring of 2005; they had to restructure the cantilevers and repair some structural things, but all is well; the repairs were well executed and not evident to the casual observer; i too daydream about wright and his greatness and just the greatness of his generation, they dont make architects like that any more; thank you for your comment, i am expecting my first child in the next two weeks, so hopefully i can find some time in the near future to comment on your work, great gallery....regards

thanx...........Wow, your first child. Me thinks you will be kinda busy.......for at least the next 18 years. LOL Really though, what a joy. Take it from this Grandfather........you are on the brink of the most exciting and challenging period of your life.

take care, david

yes...he was an amazing designer and artist; i hate the fact that around here in the arch school at Virginia Tech if you say you like frank lloyd wright, people think you are ignorant and only like him b/c he is famous; once you understand his work and ideas, its easy to see he was a genious...and our greatest architect

yeah, i could see how that would be a problem....i don't claim to know much about architecture, but i do admire it, alot. and i don't know many actual names of architects, but i do admire their work....best of luck in your studies, by the way. and great pictures. you have an uncanny knack at architecture photos, but also with nature, i've noticed. awesome stuff.....
