In anticipation of the up coming Return of superman I’ve been drawing him a lot and the first to me finished and put up here a DA is this Gold Scratch Board piece. I took me a long time to do and I’m very happy with it. i based it off a Michael Turner picture of big blue and spent about 15 hours with nothing but a thumb tack and sowing needle. Wow, that looks amazing man. I often wondered if you could do something that looked cool with those scratch art things, and you have proven that you can. Looks really nice. How do you do it then, place a picture over the top and scratch, or actually draw the image on the board yourself?

thanks man.. i draw the image first on another piece of paper the tape that down to the scratch board and go over the image again, pressing hard enough to transfer the image to the scratch board. then remove the page and start scratching. i find thats the easiest way to do these bloody things. the only problem with some of the scratch boards is that they wont scan. i did a silver one of Batman that looks nearly as cool but it wont scan worth crap. thanks for the thumbs up here.

yeah i find them to be a great way to relax and kill about 15 hours. and another tip, for extra fine scratching , take a sowing niddle and putting it in the tip of a Mechanical pencil. it works great.
