Description
Another office sketch, the only time I’ve had to draw is on lunch at work. My mother-in-law has moved into my home and with her moving in I lost most of my free space, that I used to use for drawing. SO any way this is Scott Summers AKA Cyclops al la X-men Evolution (Steven T Gordon). I really liked this show, and was sad when they caned it. No lined paper this time…. Now I’m stealing printer paper.Just quick and simple using:

HAHAHA...exactly one of my reasons for first liking him...the glasses. he was the only Superhero that wore glasses and it was cool.
Also I like him for his strong leadership skills and his determination to NEVER give up no matter how many odds are stacked against him.

agreed, sometimes he comes of as a dick (more so with certain writers) but he's just a guy with all this responcability and he has to man up and deal with huge issues. He may be a dick but he gets the job done and in the end he feels bad about things that had to be done but has the stones to do them

Right. But I think that people just get their feelings hurt and don't like those that are SURE of something. They like the more humble person even though they might be the humble person themselves. ha.
But he does have a sense of humor...it's dry and it does show up every now and then. I wish that was what they showed in the movie. I was annoyed at how two dimensional they made him. Though I did like the movies....I just thought they could have done better with him because he's such a rich character.
He's the X-Men constant. Writers and artist just like him...I've read interviews with writers and artist for X-Men and he's never listed as the one they don't care for. He's either mentioned as one of their favorites or not mentioned at all (which just means he's there and they like him but do not have strong dislike or like for him).

i think he was handled pretty well in x-1, but his roles in the next two movies were so small it was hard to get any thing out of it. thats one of my biggest problems witht eh x-movies; logan gets all the screen time and cyke got reduced to filler. its just criminal.

It was. He's a great character that writers of the X-books would very much vouch for. Logan is good too...but he's not nearly as in depth, I don't think.
Yeah I think he had humor and such in the first...he was stiff as should be.
I also dislike that they didn't use him and his powers often enough...but Logan and Storm powers were used a lot. Even Nightcrawler was used more in the power area than Cyclops.

visually cykes powers are kick ass and they really missed an Opportunity for some kick ass F/X (but i guess that means they cost more so yeah).

You did great with the lighting effect on his eyes. In fact, I'd have to say this and the KP drawing you did are showing a huge evolution in your art style; maybe this kind of shading is just the ticket for your future works.
I wasn't a huge fan of X-Men Evolution but it was all the X-Men action one could get on TV at the time, so I dealt with it. I did like Rogue as a sort of conflicted villain rather than a straight-laced heroine, and I dug the way they handled Magneto (my favorite character). In contrast, I hated the way they dealt with Nightcrawler and Wolverine was all wrong. Oh well.

I didn't love X-Men Evolution but it really started to grow on me especially after rewatching it in bulk (about six episodes a time rather than the one) and I would have liked at least another season. Also I really liked their version of Rogue far, far more than the comic version and one of my fave female cartoon characters in anything.
Anyways this picture is cool. Perhaps his eyes are too wide apart, but I like the fact the whole image is drawn in the color of his power.
