Description So when WoL came out, I was surprised they didn't do anything with the idea of a High Templar and Dark Templar merging. I thought of a bunch of ideas for what this could do, but in the end they were too weird and not practical. Please share any cool ideas.

I thought that a high templar can only merge with a high templar and dark templar with a dark templar only. This type of archon should be interesting. What kind of abilities does it have (or will have) ?

Abilitys.

basic attack ground only, chain lighting

1. short rang teleport for it self aΒ  few surrounding units or passive support that ups attack and defence

2. confused minds/ minds shadow dose a small abound of damage in a zone of effect and stuns them or, tragit unit or building cant attack for a few seconds.

3. void rift a smaller vision of what the mother ship ability or deception blanket it will summom up a breafe cloud of fog of war around it self protecting it from being seen, or just summoms up a bunce of hollo grames

4. Voidecho: creates an unstable clone of an enemy unti. Depending whitch unit was cloned,there will be more clones.The clones have less damage,defense, aren't effectid by upgrades and live only for 10 seconds but have all abyletys of that unit.They also dont count as normal unit and can be spawn beond limits.Doesn't effect heroic units.

Tychus tryed killing karrigan in wings of liberty because mensk forced him to but was shoot in the face by jim raynor and fenix was an old friend from arthanis back in SC where he was killed,turned into a dragoner and the killed again by karrigan so both have there problems with her. The littel spech there by tychus was enspiert from his voicline if he can kill an kerrigan player.

Sorry to reply that late but the co-op fenix is a fake,a AI with his memmorys that things he was turned into a dragooner (they didn't put all the memmory from thd original in it) and later calls itself tallandar I think.

At one point, blizzard had a twilight archon concept that combined khala and dark Templar, but it was scrapped for various reasons... would have been nice to have it in LoTV for use against Amon, but He'd have a few of his own probably

Part of me is trying to figure out a way to cosplay as this guy, just because he looks so wild!

I'm not sure if Blizzard even thought of a High Templar/Dark Templar merger, or if they decided it would be grossly overpowered, but I can see it as a heroic (one per player) unit in SC3.

As far as abilities, all that comes to mind right now is one Archon ability and one Dark Archon ability, plus Permanently Cloaked? Attacks ground and air units, and inflicts siege damage, but with a slow cooldown, perhaps?

According to lore, the merging of Templar and Dark Templar energies is nearly impossible; only Adun and Tassadar are known to have accomplished it. But, it yields immense power, above and beyond anything else the Protoss know, and this is the basis of Void Ray technology. In the short story, Lens of the Void, operating this vessel and tapping into its power is depicted as a bit of a dare-devil enterprise. So, an archon produced from the merging of these two antithetical forces would be of immense power - not suitable for an in-game unit, but very much so for an end-game hero.

Too late for that, though. However, it would be even more interesting to add Tal'darim energies into the mix. Don't know as if there is such a thing as unique Tal'darim energies, but we can always hypothesize, if only for fanfiction.

If memory serves me right, the tal'darim drew from either normal psi energies or used Amon's void power (can't recall which right now). As I noted above, the merging of a khala templar and dark templar would make an excellent unique hero unit for specific scenarios, if properly balanced for gameplay.

WOW you make this beutiful art for no reason , if you want that your greats ideas go to reality , try to negociate with blizzard [that is posible] and star to work with them to creat all of that and they pay good,is just a recomendation but just think in that posibility.

If I had my way, merging a High Templar and a Dark Templar would create something called an Eclipse Archon. Β I have no idea what the unit would actually do. Β I just think the name "Eclipse Archon" is cool as hell.

Protoss already have a support caster in the form of the templar, but I would have liked more units too but seems like they are quite committed to keeping the # of units / side as is. Β Unfortunate but makes balancing a heck of a lot easier. Β I could see this being a debuffing caster as that is something the protoss do lack.

I was really surprised. I tried the SC editor, they can mind control heroes. How I really wish combining different templars results in different archons, not the same blue balls, that would be awesome. However, we're gonna have to wait.

Man you should really send all those custom images to Blizzard, maybe they would act on it .
I, for one really like the idea of a unit like the Vindicator roaming the forces of the Protoss. I'd also have an Idea on how they could be implementet like something along the lines of "Armory, Laboratory" of the Protoss in advancing the merging of the templars as Archons to the "Vindicator". A Dark Archon (I really am hoping for those) and the normal 'light' Archon would merge to the Super Glass Canon that is the Vindicator.
Anyways the Artwork itself is incredible! I really do hope that you are continuing to make pics like those.

I'd put this in the LotV campaign as a split of the Archon. I'd make it have huge DPS, less health, more range, and 3 abilities:

- (cooldown 10) Void Arc - Shoots a small arc of energy (100 damage, 125 to massive) at a target.

- (toggled, drains shields while active, lasts 30 seconds) Tendrils of Rage - 5 tendrils, each with a 25-damage, 2 attackspeed attack, start hitting enemies in 8.

- (passive) Volatile Psionics - Whenever he takes damage, one of the following happens.

5%: He takes no damage.

10%: He takes double damage.

15%: Instead of taking damage, he loses energy equal to the damage. If he doesn't have enough energy, he takes no further effects.

25%: Nothing happens.

15%: He gains energy equal to the damage dealt.

10%: The damage is reflected.

5%: The attacker dies.

5%: He, and all units within 3, die in a blast of void energy.

10%: He gets either Β +10 damage and +1 shieldarmor for a minute, or -10 damage for a minute and takes 10 damage.


That way, he is slightly more fragile, but has much more damage. Volatile Psionics' description would just say that 'a variety of effects may happen when a Vindicator takes damage.
