Description Back to greyscale. Aaand almost full-cast ensemble, narrative transition pages. Sob.
In which cast members are changing out of sequined corsets and garterbelts, and sharing makeup remover and restorative cups of tea at the girls' place.
(Legolas and Cheryl are off changing and recovering in his apartment.)

Timey-wimey sadness having to do with a RL Author Existence Failure occurring while the Ballroom story arc was ongoing, but needing to be referenced, which is why Nanny Ogg and the Good Omens lads are absent. GNU Terry Pratchett.

Hmmm... the impression I'm getting from this is that Erik was not a participant in the 'floor show' (makes sense -- he's scarcely an object of aesthetic beauty) and has just now found out about it after the fact. And blown his top!

(Is he proposing steam-cleaning?)

And yes, Raoul has a point - the Opera Ghost is really not in a position to point the finger on this one
Raoul, on the other hand, who missed out on the worst of the experience, seems to be rather enjoying the whole affair. At least where Christine's performance is concerned -- going by panel 3 and the hands in panel 8...

So the idea is that Valjean could physically have broken down the door (good point) but wasn't prepared to do so on account of its being vandalism to 'his' building?

Why is Mag saying "that shan't be necessary' rather than the (expected) 'that won't be necessary' -- massive emphasis (That shall NOT happen)?

I'm not entirely certain that Nanny Ogg would have been averse to the idea of the floor-show Β  Although possibly not with the non-consensual element involved, I suppose...

Christine is now getting a bit confused over what she has and hasn't said in which version of reality

Yeah, no, Erik was part of the floorshow.

"nettoyer au KΓ€rcher" - that's actually a brand name for a popular (European?) make of gardening(?) equipment most notably high-pressure water-spray cleaners - like for sprucing up, or removing of graffiti on, walls? Image infamously used by Sarkozy back when he was Ministre de l'IntΓ©rieur, discussing the "racailles" of the inner city and what he'd do to their fiefdoms. Yeah. French politics in-joke there.

Valjean's "...sure lets roll with that" excuse is the vandalism to the Building, but one meant to imply his attentions were really otherwise engaged with the Inspecteur, because that is a very low-key but Roommates-compliant slash ship here.

Actually no biggie intended with Mag's line. It just sounded a little more posh, I guess.

IΒ΄m currently rereading the comic and I just noticed, here itΒ΄s estabished that Az and Crowley live on the same floor as Jareth and Erik (since, at the start of the comic, Jareth asked to go to 3rd floor while carrying his boxes). Before, that wasnΒ΄t mentioned, although in the Pale Man arc, it had looked like Eriks scream (when noticing the Pale Man was in the bathroom) had come from above.

The fact that Jareth is dripping glitter is either a very good thing or a very bad one. Good because he should be ecstatic right now (after he and Sarah finally reached a compromise and have started something resembling a relationship), and bad because Eric is angrier than he's been in a while and might strangle him.Β
I only hope he's here to do the right thing and return Christine's memories with an apology. Sarah expects better of him, and I really believe he wants to be what she thinks he can be. Oh, I do believe in him, yes I do!Β

Talinna-Xan In reply to Pika-la-Cynique [2015-11-02 05:18:23 +0000 UTC]

You sort of covered it in another reply. Β They teleported there because Jareth is still a bit magic depleted, and I would imagine it took a few minutes to recover.

I figure the emotional and physical exhaustion is more than likely reaching a level where even Jareth doesn't have the energy to 'try' something. Β However a couple minutes curled up on Sara's bed wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Pika-la-Cynique In reply to Talinna-Xan [2015-11-02 08:46:43 +0000 UTC]

I think you guess right with the need for catching breath and wanting to keep up appearances somewhat.

There's also some stuff to do with magical shortcuts and energy-saving. I believe Jareth's teleport spells have a couple of "autocomplete"-type default parameters that make his more frequent destinations much easier to travel to. Now arguably Sarah's bedroom is NOT where he poofs up the most, as she would indignantly have you know, but he has, and it's not like it's not something he lovingly dwells on, so he definitely knows the coordinates. (Home is where the heart is.....?) And any of Sarah's tired, unspoken wishes - not Wishes - to just end this trying day and go home already, can also fuel the spell in that particular direction, or at least, if we assume he is being hypercautious about her being magically fragilized, even he doesn't draw on them, they are facilitating his spellwork.

Not quite nixing the idea that a few heartbeats' worth of more snuggling were snatched on arrival, but, they'd kinda reached a point where Jareth's niggling worries about lingering aftereffects and magical brainfuckery had him pretty on edge and prioritizing getting her checked up, not all soft and fluff-minded.

Mag don't really care about getting decent as soon as possible, she's casual about skimpy coverage.
She has some spare clothes at Erik's, possibly, or she might page her personal valet/majordorma/bodyguard chick to bring some when she comes pick her up.
