Direct continuation of our last page, and HA. I bet you guys thought I was all fanservice'd out, huh?
Suspenseful final shot is suspenseful, although you probably can piece it together. Don't go too crazy thinking it over, explanations in next week's episode.
Clarification-translation plz! : [equivalent vehemence being valued over exact literal translation] "Oh I don't believe this, this is a friggin' nightmare!"
(Sorry this is a little late - not only was I distracted from work this afternoon by a trip out mushroom-gathering, I'd also had this brilliant idea to draw and shade a cross-side view of a staircase or something stupid like that...)

Writing everything in it in French just makes it ten times funnier.
Being a good writer and artist is very difficult. And in my opinion, comedy is the hardest thing to write.

I love this page. I really do. The hallway, stairway, and other little bits of the Building in this one pleases me far more than it should, but I had to draw a hallway in one of my drawing classes. It didn't turn out as cool as yours, but this page reminds me of that project and the nostalgia makes me smile. Plus, it looks really awesome in this comic. The fire extinguisher was a nice touch.

Been rereading bits and bits... looking at the juicy character development xp
It has always bothered me, personally, that for all Sarah shows sympathy for the creatures of the Labyrinth, goblins, dwarves... whatever Ludo is, she is very stubborn and narrow-minded about believing that Jareth always has the worst intentions in mind. To be fair, in canon, her constant defiance of him and ultimate refusal is a huge moment of character development and self-respect, not unlike Jane leaving Rochester in Jane Eyre. If it hadn't happened, Sarah... well, she wouldn't be a protagonist and she probably wouldn't even be a character worth knowing.
But here, where she's older and desires have... escalated somewhat, she still refuses to show empathy. It's clear she's not incapable, she can think like him when she wants to, but she is determined to fundamentally misunderstand him. I really don't blame Jareth for wanting to try those truth cookies in the next few pages because, even though it's cheating a little, in the long run, it would do Sarah so much good to be honest with herself to say nothing of him. Half of why she refuses to give him an inch is because she really doesn't know what she wants and she's terrified that admitting she wants him means he'll do something terrible.
It's not true, but he has no way of proving that to her until she lets him try. Trust is such a finicky thing. And unfortunately Jareth is not the patient type. We can only hope that the ball will be some important trust-building. Although, looking back at this has given me a terrible idea of mischief and I hope I'm wrong... (although, as it's Jareth, the chances of him fucking it up... O___O)

Well, tbf she is quite capable of having sympathy for Jareth when he is being pecked on by greater evils, like his mother.
Stuff that was unearthed during the Conversation, and the dust is still settling at this point - Sarah is ranting more out of angry bluster and force of habit here, truly - is that Sarah has been confronted with the proof of the possibilty Jareth really isn't just out to win/score one over her, with this seeming courtship, and ho shit if he means it this is serious emotional stuff ack. Deflection and denial ain't gonna cut it anymore, what do?
And while she is trying not to run away from that daunting realization, it's very hard for her not to remain paranoid after watching her own movie and seeing that damn evil smirk of his in the ballroom spell as evidence of how well he can pretend at being in love... and old self-preservation instincts die hard.
Anyway, some straight talk coming up.

Hmmm... true, it just seems slightly immature to react this way, even if it is the upshot of self-preservation.

Immaturity is an intentional flaw of GND-Sarah (usually as opposed to Chris being more poised and worldly). She's just hit twenty and she is plagued by toddler-brained goblins - and Jareth definitely does not always act his estimated age, either.

After thought: I feel like if Jareth could say "if you just told me you didn't want me, I'd leave you alone" that would fix a lot of Sarah's issues. Unfortunately, saying that takes WAY more guts and preparation for rejection than Jareth has ever been capable of, poor baby :c

Well, their conversation prior to this page does have him pretty much saying he is not going to pressure her any more, and intends to sort of stay put until she moves towards him.
But... ''Can't Shan't Do Not Want'', remember?
And again, this is stuff that gets mentioned during their Conversation, or close enough. When Sarah finally manages to shift the crux of the conflict from ''stop saying I want you it's not true'' which he obviously ignored completely because untrue to ''OK, so maybe I want you, but think WHY I'd not admit to it??'' that finally got him self-reflecting somewhat.

That staircase looks amazing! It was defiantly worth the work. I wish I could draw like you. Finally, 150 pages in I've had the nerve to comment. I've been quietly watching and read since page 1 through 3 account, & and this one but I've been to scared to post a comment. I absolutely love the comic. It's so amazing and I wish you lived closer so I could have you teach me. I wish I had more money so I could commission you. I love the subtle hints at SarahxJareth. I'm not a huge Sarah or Christine fan but you make it work! *end rant*

I LOVE so many things about this one. Today's specifics that I haven't already mentioned, and possibly not seen mentioned overmuch by others:
*The fire extinguisher in panel 2. Nice touch of realism / authenticity.
*The fact that Sarah has a blush / tinge on her cheeks right through her storming into her apartment...
up until *her face blanks / pales as she realizes what she JUST SAW in the corner of her eye.
