Description This is one of my favorite rifles in my collection. Very handy little guy.

This particular example was made in 1944 by the Inland division of General Motors in Dayton Ohio. It features an authentic USGI stock made by Hillerich and Bradsby (AKA the folks that make Louisville Slugger Bats). That is also an authetic World War 2 magazine pouch.

Can't be a WWII model because it has a bayonet lug.

Most, if not all, WW2 issued M1 Carbines were sent back and rearsenaled. The rearsenal process updated the M1 Carbine with the type 3 barrel band which includes the bayonet lug.

I've held one, but never fired it. I'm definitely looking to get one eventually, probably will be difficult to get one from WWII

Plenty out there. Alot of them served in both World War 2 and Korea. Some are either in a M2 stock or an M1 stock. Reciever is dated via serial number and the barrel has a date stamp on it too.

Yep. I'd love to have one wood stock and the other a Paratrooper carbine. They're pretty good weapons, sucks that nobody uses .30 carbine or a cartridge the .30carbines can chamber just as well.Β

There are plenty examples from the Korean War still around.

True that, and if I can get my hands on a USMC issued Carbine I'd go for it faster than a WWII Army CarbineΒ

I'm sure some of those Korean ones have also seen use in WWII, but you would have to check a bunch of websites to find the best one at the best price.

True that, I actually have a Gun store here that can order it for me at fair price. Most that were in Korea were of WWII vintage but upgraded and refurbished.Β

And just think, South Korea has a crapload of these and M1 Garands they want to sell back to us for the civilian market but Obama and his cronies put a stop to them coming back home

That is awfully expensive.

thats what they cost around here, the shop is a big gun shop with its own range, and all their M1 carbis cost about $1000-1300, I remember once seeing a M1 garand there a few years ago for $2500, another big gun shop with a range in the area has a M1 garand for the first time in years, priced at $1195, they also have a Arisaka type 99 priced at $350, and a Nambu type 14 priced at $550

The internet is the best bet mate. Just have a local FFL do transfers.

However, the gun scare has shot prices through the roof so it really is a bad time to buy right now.

yeah, I might have to wait a while till I collect anymore, I just have 2 guns and one demilled gun, but I guess is still a gun. one SW9VE pistol for home defense, a functional Arisaka type 99 for a WW2 display and as a secondary home defense weapon, and now one non functional Arisaka type for display, thats all I have.
