The K31 is as much a rifle as it is a piece of art

Yea, I got it off of Gunbroker. Blueing is around 80 percent.

After serving (and it's obligatory for male citoyen), swiss soldiers could keep the gun if they want. But they give you an older one because they still need the actual model (makes sense). So my father gets a K31 when his duties ended. Some years later his dad died and he inherited a K11.
When I quit, they offerd me a Stwg 57. I refused, I don't need a heavy an not very managable rifle and I don't have a safe storage place anyway.

Mine is a 1926 model with a very nice stock. Am considering replacing the rear sight with an S&K mount and long-eye-relief scope as my distance vision isn't as good as it once was.

Not a bad idea. I have heard good things about those gunsmith free S&K mounts.

Wow. Someone else who knows the K31 is not a Schmidt. I applaud you sir. Nice beech stock. Not too many dings.

Thanks,it helps when you have both a Schmidt-Rubin (K11) and a K31.
Yea, I lucked out with the stock. Alot of the beech stocks suffer from "beaver chew" damage.
