Well... It's only November, but I already have a piece done for the Anime North 2010 design contest.For this I drew the Anime North mascot; Momiji, in a beautiful dark red kimono with traditional nihongami styled hair. I hope the judges like the style I've gone with for this.
The image title "Momiji Odori" means Maple Dance.

whoa, what applet or program did you use for this?? All those leaves, maple leaves to be exact, you did ALL those leaves? Crazy!! They look like puzzle pieces from far away. Nicely done. Love the structure of those leaves and the motion it creates.

Thank you! Actually, all of those maple leaves were drawn by hand. They are originally from this illustration: [link] On the original illustration, that maple tree is about 2 feet tall.

Good eye. lol I thought there was something quite odd about the dress or her hand but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. I thought maybe it was hidden behind that hand and was tucked behind her...

I was actually changed the angle of the arm, hoping the hand would disappear behind the other arm, but it doesn't seem to be working. I'll have to go back into this one.
