Description England, year 1607, the 3 ships are preparing for a voyage that resulted in the founding of the first permanent English settlement in North America. So generally this is a first step towards a colony which became the United States.
The Biggest one was called Susan Constant. My imagination was showing me some cold peacefull mornig in big port, so I paint it like that. I like the seagulls a lot so there are some

Just photoshop and intous tablet. For the ships I have a simple 3d model for basic perspective. The whole picture was a kind of slow process but I enjoyed it.

I like it maybe more than my last works, but dont know if its really better. Any commnets are welcome.

Beautiful work, i always admire your paintings. Are you gonna be doing any more work for creative assembly again for a new total war game or expansion pack?

Astonashing work!
I only have one small question;
That flag to the left, on the tower. That looks like the union jack, which didn't exist in that shape at that time... but.. what the hell, it doesn't matter. This picture is still more than awesome. It's perfect!!

This is beautiful! Did you use any pictures for references, or do you have the images all in your head? I could never do anything like this without photographs to guide me.

I had some plans of the galleons, and I was inspired by the Portsmouth dockyard in general.

Have you seen the recreated Susan Constant of Jamestown, Virginia? [link] Kudos on the painting..I volunteer with another recreated ship, the Maryland Dove in St Mary's City. It is great to see someone painting these old time ships..

The ship is beautiful (any detail shots??) It looks like it might be a little too long though, but I don't really know much about the Susan Constant anyway. The masts just seem kind of far apart to me..

Anyway, I love the way the light filters through..It's a gorgeous painting.

Great talent. You also have a good imagination of America. Last week, I was in Jamestown, where this ship once docked.
