HOOOOOO-EY!
SO MUCH TIME!
This update took me quite a while. I have some stuff to say about it.
1: It used to be about 52 panels. I cut that in half so I could muster the drive to work on it without being overwhelmed by the sheer amount of panels. That's why you get a Pokeball cliffhanger again... ^^:Β
Sorry about that... hehehe...
2: I put a stupid amount of effort into backgrounds. I probably shouldn't have. But atmosphere was important. I tried to recreate Elm's Lab as close as I could while also adding some creative liberties, since the whole 1-room thing is something I'm consciously avoiding.
3: Apologies to all Ursaring fans, but as much as I love him, the "Perpetually Angry Bear" thing always kind of got on my nerves. So I made him more cuddly, lol. There's more to it than that, but you'll figure that out later. ^^
Anyways, I'm off to immediately work on the next one. It's time for the plot to finally get underway!

I have a standard of quality I want to provide. But I also want to start being more expedient. If I want to get anywhere with this story, I gotta work on my speed.

This universe is more complicated than I originally thought, so it turns out that Pokemon can get jobs (and get payed for them), therefore it is safe to say that they might have access to some form of educate too. But this brings up the question of Pokemon rights as they are clearly intelligent and that thisΒ recognized by a large number of the human population. For example what about the Pokemon that belong to trainers, if they are intelligent creatures this could be counted as slavery and by the looks of it they don't have a choice about going into this line of work.
Also what about the Pokemon in the wild are they just mindless creatures that are taught things like speech after they are caught or do they already know how to speak. Further more if they are taught who teachers them, it is possible it is done when they are inside the Pokeball, but this only a theory. What about Pokemon that don't like their trainer, do the Pokeballs somehow make docile towards their trainers and make them listen (don't get me start on Pokemon that are natural enemies and the badge system). Not only that but what about Pokemon battles, as this is a Pokemon Nuzlocke any Pokemon battle that happens will be to the death and I am pretty certain, that all the intelligent Pokemon would not be happy with this (Pokemon upraising potential here).
One last thing if some Pokemon are intelligent, which is obverse here (we have to perfect examples here the Uraring and theΒ Azumarill), can Pokemon be Pokemon trainers, I put this forward to you.Β I am only scratching at the surface here, you have truly dug yourself a very deep hole if you don't have answers for these types of questions. Also you are likely to hear further speculation from me and other reads so you have a big task ahead of you.Β On a side note I have an idea of how to explain, how Pokemon fit into their Pokeballs they are converted into pure energy then compressed and from here it would be possible for that energy to be modified, mind control much (if you can't tell I somewhat stole this from another Nuzlocke and add my own twist to it).
P.S. If you want me to go a bit easier on the speculation just ask me and I will probably do it, that is unless you leave yourself open, with massive plots holes, then I most likely will not be able to resist.

You bring up a lot of points, and I'm very happy that you have. These are all things I've considered.
As for now, the only thing I can say is; don't worry about it.
I don't plan on raising any methods of worldbuilding without adequately explaining them.
But I'd rather show you than tell you. So don't expect any expo-speak or long-winded explainations outside the comic in comments. Just wait for me to be able to get further in the story.

Ok it is nice to see that you have planned this all out and not just dived in head first without thinking these type of things out, I can't wait to hear your answers to these questions. One thing I would like to see is a Pokemon being a Pokemon trainer, it would be a really nice twist to a Nuzlocke, but it if doesn't happen that is perfectly fine with me. This is the only Nuzlocke I have read, so far, that has the potential to have a Pokemon as an official Pokemon trainer, so I think I will keep my fingers crossed for this to happen.

That is the sweetest Ursaring I've ever seen. Interesting touch that the Starter balls are all-white- is that because the're specifically from the lab?

They're premiere balls. They're the balls that you got around Gen 4 -onward (I think?) for free when you bought 10 Pokeballs.
In-canon that's all they're good for. But in this headcanon I'm using them to indicate qualities about the starters and the starter programs. Some worldbuilding stuff, ya know?
