I needed that break. It did wonders for me.
I'm sorry this took a while. But I'm rejuvinated, excited, and ready to 'locke!
When I uploaded the first page a while ago now, it was the first time I ever drew a background. I was proud of it. And I've improved since then.
This is the first time I've ever drawn an action scene. Β It's significantly more challenging, since every single reference I could find wasn't fit for my style. I attempted a bunch of things, but they all ended up clashing pretty hard, especially with all the color I'm doing.
I'm still satisfied with how it's coming out. And I hope to improve upon it in the future.

Haha, wow! Imagine being shafted by your own pokemon in your first battle. This is a really important moment for the little guys, but c'mon, it's the humans' battle too! I really like the coloured lines. It makes the images look a little deeper, more vibrant.

i still cannot get over how FRESH and CLEAN your lineart is, it's truly amazing.
Mmmm, with the relationships between the starter Pokemon I wonder how Jason and Silver's rivalry(?) will develop. Very interested to see how things play out, especially with Lyra around (I STILL think she knows somethin about Silver, and I'm stickin with that theory.)
And HELL YEAH DUDE be as proud as can be, everything is turning out great!! I have no idea how you have the godly stamina to do such detailed backgrounds, you are a hero among heros

Great job so far, nice to see you are back, hope you enjoyed the break. I am still waiting for my next big chance to go all theorizing, but I will have to wait, it is nice to finally see some fight scenes, it is truly something that can make or break a Nuzlocke you me. You have done a nice job the only thing that bugs me is Rose's back in the last to panels, (the fire and the circles just don't look right, something is off about them) although that is only a small thing so don't worry about it too much. If I could draw as half as good as you I would start my own Nuzlocke comic, I have had an idea for one I just can't draw (I don't have that artistic flare).

Can you elaborate on the fire thing? What exactly seems off about it? Just for improvements sake.
Is it the blurred lineart for the speed? I drew the flames in such a way to show the illusion of movement and to emphasize the force of the clash. I also drew it like actual cartoony fire instead of the flame quills Cyndaquil is usually drawn with.
The fire's also supposed to be a bit see-through to show that it's not as intense as it could be. Young starter and all that.

The movement looks fine with me, I think is just down to the colouration, I think it should flow more from one colour to the next, but I understand the choose you have made to make it two toned. After all it suits the cartoony look you want and I think you will have to play around with the see through fire thing. It looks all right but I am not sure if it will look better or worse if it was not see through, especially in those two particular panels.
Just one last thing don't take my opinion as what all your fans want, I am just one person with a really large mouth, but it is nice to see you are open to criticism.
