It's the way you have clearly defined the different textures, all in one piece, that really sets it apart for me. My eyes can feel all of those textures at the same time.

aww thankyou i dont think traditional art esp realism get many DDs.. I am glad you really liked this drawing.. its not one of my more popular drawings but it is one of my most realistic.. It looks a lot better in person and i was really proud of it when it was finished..
It took a long time to draw though and i remember my hand really hurting for a week afterwards lol..

Well, hopefully what you said about traditional art not getting DD's changes. I am new to DA, but this is one of the best pictures I've seen on this site for colored pencils. (And even though I've only been here for a few months, I've seen a TON of pictures, because I've become addicted very quickly! lol.

you are amazing, almost impossible, at first glance (and second, and third, and forth) it looks like a photograph, i only realised it was a drawing when i was looking CLOSELY at the leaves. YOU ARE AMAZING!
