how is this thing called in english? jumping tower?anyway. this is my second work for school atelier and i must say i'm quite happy with the result.
the assigment was to create model of "jumping tower" with springboards at 1, 3, 5 and 10 metres, useble for standard swimming pool.
i wanted to make it look dynamic and interesting from any view, and 100% functional and realizable at the same time. the building looks quite intended, but the ground plan is very simple and compact. the main "trick" creating the look is stairway turned in 45°, this makes it look all bit more complicated and interesting.
screw those low quality pictures and layout design, i didn't have time for it and it's not the point this time.

-facukty of radioelectronics ) and i think that my university its the biggest hole in the world. I hate my speciality, because we study different subjects not connection with my feature profession. Sorry for my english

haha i know what you mean... it's pretty the same on my faculty. the most difficoult subjects are totally unusable for architects, and even our teachers told us that once we complete these subjects, we may forget everything cos its for no use for us. but why are we studying them? i think nobody knows. and what's even worse, those really important subjects, that we need very much for our future jobs, are underestimated or they dont exist at all. i think that the only way is to go to some good university in western europe, usa, east asia or australia, not a big chance to get high quality education in post-socialistic countries so far...

Oh, i'm understend what you mean. Yes, indeed, it is a big problem of post-socialistic countries. Teachers try to develop a man in all directions, but in the total persons are concluded by an university without what or the special knowledges. For us when people come on work after university, they at once are told, that they forgot everything that was taught during five years. I want to study design and illustration somewhere in Europe or USA, but i can't.

couldn't help entering this discussion. I'm an architecture student in my final graduation days and let me tell you that I listen to myself speaking about my school through your statements about yours. I'm living in a post-fascist country (portugal) and let me tell you that it doesn't pay off that well to study in all of the 'western-world' - whatever that is. if I could choose I would have studied in the uk or the netherlands.

thanks a lot mate. well me too, i'm allready bored by all those super-minimalistic, neo-functionalistic things all around... it's dead, i mean, it's 21st century, why should we build building more or less the way people did 100 years ago? le corbusier was cool but it ended allready...

wow that's cool - i live in vienna - i think the technical university and the faculty of architecture here don't make so cool projects. it's more the university of applied arts and their architecture faculty ... you certainly know coop himmelb(l)au ... one of those guys is professor there.

oh really? didn't know that! i LOVE coop himmelb(l)au, his style... i saw that building they made in Dresden, was there about 2 month ago, i love how dynamic and deconstructive it is... haha, if you think that my work looks similar to his style, it's a great honour for me

yeh, dynamic is definitely the correct description. it seems that they overcome gravity with their constructions .. quite amazing.
but I heard, that he is kinda asshole to the students. well as much fame as he has might corrupt the character ..

yeh ... I guess it's quite hard to stay on the "real" side of life ... if everybody admires your work. On the other side I can imagine that he has a whole lot of "enemies" ...
