Description
The squonk is a fearsome critter that dwells in forests and swamplands. It's a warty, slimy creature that spends most of its time sobbing and crying. If someone tries to catch one, it dissolves into a puddle of tears, sweat, and snot.It is generally described as the most pathetic creature to exist.
35-40 cm at the shoulder. ~1-1.1 m length

Don't let convergent evolution fool you... it's a Ceratopsian! There's some complicated business about investure of properties and how it came to acquire the dissolution component, but what the legends don't tell you is that they reconstitute later. Most hunters just don't want to sit around and wait for a puddle of goop to turn back into a little woodlands critter.

Hmmm I was a bit suspecious about that head crest, but I thought THAT was the sign of convergence with ceratopsians, not the other way around
