Description
Not sure if I'll have time to enter my horses in all the fabulous Halloween contests going on right now, but really wanted to do something for Halloween. And I thought, since I don't really have any adult ref's of Bear, what better to do than to show an updated image of him, and capture the spirit of the Holidays.

He's getting tall and gangly now, with much more adult features, as he has just turned one. He's still got a little growing and filling out to do, but looking much more mature these days.

Ehem, late comment is late...
But despite that, I hope you had great Halloween!

Bear looks awesome, so vigorous and vigilant! He must be a perfect watchdog for your stables.
I also like a lot that shiny font you have used as well as overall layout. You're really good at picking nice fonts and making layouts for your pictures!

Love late comments... I do them all the time.

I had a great Halloween, and hope you did as well.

I couldn't resist doing something for the holiday, and all while finding an excuse to draw an updated image of my sweet Bear.  Puppies do grow up so fast, don't they?  And thank you for the lovely comments... I got lucky finding a font/style and layout that just worked out so well.  Now onto brainstorming something fun for Christmas.

My halloween was not anything special; it is not that big celebration here in Finland. But let's say, during past ten years, it has grown bigger and bigger event.
On our "Halloween" (with different name of course) we traditionally remember those who have passed away and light candles for them in our houses or graveyards.
I don't mind combining both: our more serious and quiet way and the more festive side coming to us over the seas.

I wouldn't mind seeing more pics of your adorable Bear; he is equally cute as a puppy as a grown up.

Oh, Christmas is really approaching fast! It is already the first of December! I should try to find out something special for Christmas also here in dA. Maybe something to do with pixel ponies...
Looking forward to see what you come up with!

LOOOOK! Bear's growing up so fast, and all those pumpkins! And I totally love the font! The spiderweb in the '0' is just awesome

I really like the way you've done the fade out of the backdrop, too. The moon and stars aren't overly complex but they're just the right touch of detail. I'm so glad you got something like this done for Halloween, even if your time's a little short ^^ (and I seriously love the pumpkins - I'm on a bit of a high because for the first time in as long as I remember my mum actually bought me a pumpkin this year so I just start beaming whenever I see them at the minute).

This is awesome, Rebecca!

Thank you so much!

I actually had so much fun with this.  I've been meaning to draw Bear a new ref, since I know at a year old he needs an updated look.  And I figured, why not just draw him into my Halloween image, getting to show him growing while enjoying the seasonal decor, and killing two birds with one stone.     The pumpkins (albeit quickly drawn and unreferenced) were fun, and I figured a nice touch to his 'postcard' picture.  And it didn't take me too long (partially because I was inspired and having fun), as the font was easy (I've just discovered how to use styles, and love them), the moon was a brush, and the stars I sort of haphazardly threw down in the sky.  The spider and the web were a last minute addition, just to add a little 'something else' to the picture.

I'm glad you like this... and that you are enjoying your pumpkin high!     You'll have to post pictures if you carve your pumpkin this year.

Thanks again.

Gah! Sorry, it sent on its own!

Anyway, I found this: 1.bp.blogspot.com/-Naqp8dS2Zfk…

So she had a go with her pumpkin (and an orange). The other pictures in the stash link that just got sent are a couple of close ups of the icing models on my halloween cupcakes (just in case it went wonky, this is the link to last years pictures again: sta.sh/220ao8fj8iw4 ).

You're welcome!

And it definitely looks like you had fun! Dogs grow up so much quicker than horses, but this worked really nicely to show how he's growing into his paws as well as being your seasonal poster. Good thinking there And ha; pumpkins hardly need a reference; these look great! All the little details just add up to something lovely - I'm so glad you threw in that web and spider last minute. It may be odd, but I have a huge love for spiderwebs and that little bit just completed this for me.

I'm definitely enjoying my pumpkin high, too! And definitely I'll be posting pictures! You actually reminded me - I never posted the ones I took of last year's pumpkin. My aunt bought me and my cousin ones (as is normal for us) and we carved them at her place. Being me, I did a horse But I was looking up really good pumpkin carving ideas on the internet, and found this:

Yay, looking forward to this years pumpkin pictures.

And I am in awe of your prior-year pumpkin-carving horse-design skills... I'm usually lucky if I can get the triangle eyes of a typical jack-o-lantern to look right.  My 3-D skills are definitely lacking (or should I more accurately say, nonexistent).  I can't wait to see what you do with this year's pumpkin.

And the ref picture you found (as well as your cousin's pumpkin) are hilarious.    That is a great idea.

Yay for the Fall Holiday Season!

Hopefully I don't disappoint

Haha; I wouldn't be too in awe! It was a fairly simple silhouette and there were bits that were breaking up and falling through because itt wasn't too well planned. My 3D skills aren't epic, but its fun, part of the holiday and I get to use a big knife, which (even though I'm legally an adult) I'm not often trusted with. Anyway, practice makes perfect

Yeah, there's tons of amazing pumpkins - you literally just have to google 'best pumpkin carvings' and they swarm you. The one with the orange I just happened to see and we ran with it. Apparently we can't do straightforward pumpkins

I have every faith that you will come up with a wonderfully carved pumpkin this year.

And I know what you mean about not being trusted with a knife - I'm a little accident prone myself, and don't handle those unless necessary.

Thank you ^^

Haha, its not so much that I'm accident prone I'm a weapon nut - I have throwing knives, a crossbow and a recurve bow and still want to get a katana. I love stuff like that and apparently I look dangerous wielding anything more than a butter knife XD

Good thing I can't actually visit you, I might end up killing myself around your weapons... I should call you Katniss the Second.     But I bet you have so much fun with all your "toys."

Katniss the Second. Nah, its not so bad; most of them are kept in cupboards I do love them, though - there's not so much chance to use the knives, but I do take the crossbow to archery meets and my cousin and I trade goes with that and her long bow.

...Maybe your new nickname isn't so unapplicable XD
