The Arctic Warfare Series rifle... Because the PSG-1 is WAY too expensive, and they haven't made a MSG-90 in .338 Lapua Magnum.

the arctic warfare, as far as im aware, was the L96, a British weapon, or did the Germans grab it first?

The AWS is British, but the Germans use it as well.

AWS is just the manufacturer nomenclature.

its a modified AWM-F...
weights around 8kg (~16pounds) unloaded.
in germany its called "Gewehr 22" (G22)
seems to be a german-american-partnership-shooting or kinda stuff...(the guy on the right wears a german flecktarn bdu)

Yea, it was a joint training event. We did a bunch of them.
You sure it's an AWM-F, not an AWS?

Sort of. That's the British designation. The photo is of an Accuracy International, Artic Warfare Suppressed (AWS).
The L96A1 is not suppressed, it's the AWC model.

did you fire it?

Nope, I got kinda busy running the range that day. Considering I had already fired pretty much all of the German weapons previously, it'd be polite of me to be a range officer instead. I've fired over AI rifles, and I'm not a precision guy myself, so it wasn't a big deal to me.

That's one accurate, exspensive gun!

Custom rifles tend to be, yea. It's almost an exponential growth, accuracy vs price

Rifle is 6 kilos without scope or ammo. With scope and ammo, 7.5 kilos.

my guess was about 20lbs.. i wasnt to far off.. thats a pretty monster rifle.. 7.62 isnt that big of a round for a rifle that size.. must be a dream to shoot..

You want a heavy weapon for longer range shooting. Minimizes recoil.
