In the months after the klingon cardassian war, the klingons reached havoc on the outstreched cardassian lines. The rare events of cardassian retaliation were mostly accompanied by commanders like Gul Vyrran who employed unconventional tactics outside the regular combat doctrines. In 2372, Vyrran faked a landing operation on the moon Clesra-V-Ortos-III, drawing the attention of two light cruisers, which he then attacked after evading detection by shutting down energy and shields and hiding behind an asteroid with his own ship, a Vassad class destroyer and two Sartan class frigates.
