Description
This was an old character I drew a long time ago, but I never really took him anywhere. I guess the idea of sea Sonic characters was something I didn't take too seriously when I was initially designing them. Thanks to a new friend, *NeoAtlantis (Totally awesome character designs!) I got inspired to dig one of my old doodles up and re-design it completely. So, this is his initial design with some basic details. I designed him after this pic of a Seahorse: [link]*NeoAtlantis ‘s character Brine the Reef needs a friend, and a team mate. ^_^
This is Ridge the Seahorse.
Named for his Ridged appearance, but his personality is actually more of an energetic, friendly athlete.
Self proclaimed hotshot and thinks he's smooth with the ladies. He's a speedy little guy who's always on the lookout for his next challenge.
He's a tenacious flirt with females, but he seems to have problems getting involved in relationships. Some say it’s his approach to the girls, coming on too strong when he asks if he can bear their children. (Those of you who actually know about Seahorse Biology, you will get this joke!)
That’s all for now. I’ll probably post more pics and make a more official profile for this guy later. I gotta get some sleep before work. O_o

Thanks! I didn't create Ridge because of male pregnancy, but because I thought it would be funny to have a male that would try to pick up girls by offering to bear their children.
Male Seahorses are not actually "pregnant". They just carry the eggs and protect them until they hatch.

Hehe, he's probably one of the silliest characters I've ever made too. Not too many guys out there who are looking to have some girl's baby...it even disturbs me that I even thought of that. LOL

Most Sonic OCs are ridiculously overpowered, ridiculously perfect, either ridiculously sweetness-and-light "lovable" to the point where you can't help but hate them or ridiculously "dark" and "edgy" to the point where you want to laugh at them, and/or have ridiculously horrible or magical pasts.
Your character does not commit these sins, and more than that, he is of an unusual type and has at least one believable character flaw (which, trust me, is practically worth a medal). For this, I salute you.

The flaw I assume, you mean the little joke I made about asking females if he can "bear their children".
I like keeping my characters somewhat biologically related to the species I picked. I feel it makes things more natural to the character.

As silly as it sounds, I was inspired for his whole "ladies man" attitude from old Inuyasha episodes based on the monk named Miroku.
I wasn't huge on the show itelf, but that character cracked me up from time to time. I think it would have been a good show, but all the immature fan-mobs killed it for me.

I was thinkng about that, but not so much about having him evolve. I figured he'd brag about suck folk tales and that he's "technically" a Dragon, and then his friends would knock him down by telling him he's "nothing more than a little fish." or something like that. XD

Thanks! I actually designed them after doing some study on Aquatic Shoes. I have a pair that I use when vacationing around beaches with coral reefs. These shoes are a lifesaver on coral. lol
