Nope. Actually, Greeks work more hours on average than any other country in Europe, have some of the highest education standards and are certainly not the ones to blame for the european crisis. Corrupt politians and bankers have nothing to do with the people of Greece.

I was kidding, I'm Greek. I figured Greece wasn't to blame, but all my uncles and aunts and great-aunts and uncles said when I asked them was that it was the Turkish peoples fault or something. They REALLY hate Turks... I dunno why.

...Well, I'm pretty sure my great-uncle-Christos-whatever-dont know how he's related to me has dementia... but I once mentioned Macedonians to my uncle George and he went OFF at me. I'm half-Greek and I've never met any Turkish people... I want to, though... I've met a total of one macedonian.

Also, koine Greek gave Christians their O.T & N.T. And my country has given money to Greece. But your country won't get fixed while corrupt politicians are voted in over there. The Greek people have the power to change what is happening, they are a strong and beautiful people, they can do it!

Well, we're having the elections coming in a few days but I don't know what is going to happen. Chances are that we're going to have up to 9 different political parties in parliament (they need over 3% of the general vote) but nobody will have the majority vote in order to create goverment...it's going to be a mess.

I don't know which country you're from my friend, but if I were you I'd consider the money lost. They are giving money to people that don't know how to use them or how to fix the mistakes themselves did. Greece needs a goverment of people that have nothing to do with politics, preferably people that are not used to the greek "ways".

Don't sound good. Sorry, I do not know well your system of government. I hope it works out better than expected.

I am Australian. We all need governments that are there for their people, sadly, we don't always get them.

Sc1r0n In reply to TillShilohComes [2012-04-27 04:34:28 +0000 UTC]

Our system of government sucks and doesn't work at all. As a joke, I've always been saying that if we're going to pump the oil that we have in the Aegean sea then the United States will bomb us for sure because we've got everything all the other countries that they attacked. We have corrupted goverments,we have angry people ready to start a revolution,we have oil,our army sucks and if we get into a war it will be over in a day plus by the end of this decade we'll be as poor as these people were and most possibly out of the EU (so this won't be a problem).

I am seriously thinking of leaving Greece and moving to the UK. Maybe I'll get paid less but at least I won't have to be here when the shit hits the fan

lol Actualy, no country in europe is in much better situation than Greece, it's just that the shit haven't hit the fan yet. Spain is going to be next, then Portugal and Italy and who knows what is going to happen after that. It;s a shame that this is happening because the people are not to blame for the crisis. The goverments and the damn banks are to blame for everything.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

wickedreasoning In reply to Sc1r0n [2012-04-02 19:25:34 +0000 UTC]

of course. unemployment, low salaries, the basic needs so expensive. sure the governments and the banks are to blame, but the ones that get screwed over are us. as far as portugal is concerned we've had only bad politicians, we threw out our prime minister and replaced with..well something else. there's really no one good enough to vote for.
i'm particulary sad for greece, it was a place i wanted to visit for a while.
we'll all go down(well maybe except for germany -_-), but i try being positive and thinking this can't last forever! they say this will be the worst year.

Well,it's the worse year until the next one. I agree with you that it must end someday but who knows whic way will it end. I've been thinking moving to UK but things are not that much better there too...

yeah, even if this IS the worst year, we don't know how much better will it be for next year. and yeah i thought about it too, but i don't think there's a good place in europe(if there is anywhere else) to be right now. and right now i know if it goes really bad i still can count on my parents for support, thankfully! sadly, there are people that are not as lucky as me.

Sc1r0n In reply to nylonboy89 [2011-12-30 07:54:50 +0000 UTC]

damn But I would call Bulgaria a shithole. It's a bitter truth but now that Greece is practically in ruins other Balkan countries have the chance to take some of the industry. If for example a Greek is paid better to work in Bulgaria, Romania or wherever, I believe they would take the risk, even a short-term one, to come and work there make some money and then come back to Greece. Looks like things are getting reversed

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

nylonboy89 In reply to Sc1r0n [2011-12-30 12:32:36 +0000 UTC]

Bulgarians are still better payed in Greece then in Bulgaria. Greeks come here only to buy things, cause they are cheaper (like gasoline, goods and stuff) or to study here (cause it`s cheaper again and our diplomas are EU ones now)
Bulgarian and greek people aren`t so different actually, our standarts are

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sc1r0n In reply to nylonboy89 [2011-12-30 13:10:21 +0000 UTC]

I totally agree with you and that's why I believe that the terms will change and that Bulgaria and all other Balkan countries will actually have higher pays and better living conditions than Greece in the next 10 years or so

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

nylonboy89 In reply to Sc1r0n [2011-12-31 00:41:03 +0000 UTC]

I don`t think so. You see, the political situation in Bulgaria is really way more complex then the one in Greece (I monitor what`s happening in Greece really closely) and I can`t explain it to you in just one DA comment. I hope the polititions who made this things that happened in Greece to be sued.

But you`ll get over it, you are balkan people after all. We survived so many threats like the ottomans and the commies and many many more.

You`ll see that this crisis will pass like all the others did

I think part of the problem is that nobody has money to lend.

(Besides, with the inheritance of classical democracy which was only for the moderately wealthy MALES, we're still having to argue that woman and the poor are people too And the Greeks totally stole their alphabet from the Sumerians!)

I just don't have a good grasp of economics. Because it seems like if everyone is in debt to someone, then surely somebody must have money?

Sc1r0n In reply to drunkpimp3000 [2011-11-04 07:18:24 +0000 UTC]

Well, they were tolerant with their own people and because "Greece" was actually something like the USA, different laws applied to different cities so we're talking only about Athens here. If you'd have to choose a time period, the "Golden Age of Pericles" would be the absolute best at 500BC

drunkpimp3000 In reply to Sc1r0n [2011-11-04 07:32:22 +0000 UTC]

Athens always did seem more down with my kind of proclivities than other city-states. Once I build a working time machine I'll be sure to punch up that date (and probably never come back!)

Sc1r0n In reply to drunkpimp3000 [2011-11-04 08:03:23 +0000 UTC]

Sadly, even if mankind ever builds a time machine we'll never be able to travel back beyond the point of inventing it No matter what time really is and how we understand it, going past that point would create a paradox Unless...somebody has created it already back then

Nah, sorry Einstein. I don't care how, but I'll tear a hole through the universe if I can get back to the age of pericles. And maybe I'll shoot my own grandfather along the way.
