Description
Not with the usual sword, spear and shield, but more of the "stewardess of valhalla", or at least my anime version of them, even though I doubt that viking otakus ever existed.But anyway, this piece was the limit of my computer's processing power, since towards the end it started to struggle a little. The final image was just over 340 MB.
p.s: The brightness is fully intentional. I actually used quite a few screen layers to brighten it up. The brightness actually works better at the intended image size rather than the thumbnail, so......

Very cool! I like how each valkyrie's costume is different despite having the same primary colour. Very nice designs.

Wow! The wings are amazing! Interesting that they're valkyries, I've always thought of them as very muscular and robust women. This is certainly a nice variation.

Question: Did you model your Valkyries after the 3 main female protagonists of Magic Knights of Rayearth? They seem to have the same hair color as the characters not to mention the suits are color coordinated as the Knights of Rayearth.

Rayearth? I've heard of it, but I'm not quite familiar with it 
I just coloured them that way since I thought that blonde, red, and blue are the most suitable (with pink and green being too 'cute' for this picture, and black too 'asian') and the outfit and wings colour simply complements the hair.

Look up a picture sometime of the 3 heroines of Rayearth and you'll see what I mean. I thought quite a few people watched that anime, surprised it wasn't an influence, but you are right, the colors do fit well.

I think a lot of people do watch it, I'm just not a fan of CLAMP myself so I don't really watch or read any of their work. (I haven't watched cardcaptor or chobits or X either)

A Valkyrie? Valkyries are the battle maiden from Norse/viking mythology. They determine who will die in the battlefield and escort those glorius dead to Valhalla, the golden hall of Odin the allfather - hence their name "Valkyrie" or "Choosers of the slain".
Once they get to valhalla they get changed and become more or less heavenly waitresses who serve the food and drink to the Gods and the Einherjar (the dead people from before that was picked by Odin) in valhalla.

Yay for valks, I have looked into a bit of norse mythology. Valkaries were the Stewardesses of Valhalla and they served mead. At least that is what i have read. Good job but remember to make the legs, the calf on the one at the extreme left hand side is a bit flat even for the angle that it is in. Good stuff ja
