    Taking to heart his life experiences as a former student and current teacher, Aethel uses it as a base of inspiration and drive to how he should act towards others and especially his students. Working with children at their boisterous and openly curious age definitely left the elf with a generally docile demeanor towards childish rebellion. He is very cooperative and patient with the children, reaching out with more than just an education to offer but a dependable adult who is open to hearing their woes no matter how little they are. He doesn’t take tantrum-induced insults personally and just gently brings the student away from the group to calm down and talk it out before resuming.

With no healer strong enough to heal him, the infection caused him to lose his hearing on one side.     By age 50, he had gotten enough money to travel by airship to Tusa. Extreme weather condition and drastic exposure to a large population of people who aren’t dark elves was enough to give Aethel quite the culture shock and took some while getting used to. This was only half of his journey since he planned to study in Koben. A portion of his money had been pick-pocketed which caused him to linger around longer to work as an errand boy for a small clinic. He picked up some basic Vikasa over the years as well as learn through watching other healers and acolytes perform on their patients. Aethel was welcomed to stay longer, even encouraged to become a proper doctor but that still felt like a huge leap to someone who had simple elementary education. Saving for the trip as well as his tuition this time, he finally took the airship to Koben at age 138.

Thankfully, there was some…er…he wasn’t sure if it was animal or breast-milk in those bottles but they seemed too young for animal milk. So, the night was spent sleepless to take care of these children however he could. Still, what was he going to do?

He didn’t want unnecessary rumors to spread so he really put his trust in her (and also bribed her a bit with payment) to assist and teach him on how to actually raise twin half elves. With her help, Aethel grew into a worrisome but competent father to two intelligent and well-behaved toddlers. They were just as curious and active as the other children but Aethel was thankful it wasn’t too hard to get them to listen to him. Plus, Graham and Adelle (or Grey and Ada as they are lovingly called), loved their father very much. Raising them was stressful and tiring...but ultimately, very rewarding.

It was eventually inevitable that people found out. People were asking questions, even the children were asking questions. It put a great deal of stress on the man but he was truthful. He didn’t know where they came from, nor who the mother was. But he will treat them as his own no matter if they really were his children or not. The rumors were hard to keep down still on who the mother might be, but by the time the twins started school the family had put thoughts on who ‘mom’ was behind them. It’s just the three of them and they’re fine with that.
