Description I figured I should draw this guy properly sooner rather than later, what with the manga having ended and all. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the hero of one of the most popular and longest running shounen manga of the last couple of years, Uzumaki Naruto! As if the guy needed an introduction

Naruto was fun to draw, somehow I had a very clear picture in my head of what he'd look like. Round, soft features, not particularly handsome, but cute and boyish and looking rather young for his age. And of course, a sincere and open look in his eyes and a big smile! Seriously, that smile almost killed me. Expressions   Also, the pointy anime protagonist hair was impossible to emulate in semi-realistic style -.- Well, despite the difficulties, I think I captured Naruto's look, but I'm really not sure. I find it very difficult to judge whether these portraits are any good once they're finished, perhaps because I've looked at them for too long, perhaps because portraits OTL.

Edit: Oops, just realized I forgot his whiskers  . But I fixed it, so here's Naruto in all his whiskery glory!

Next up: Ciel Phantomhive!

Glad you like my work! From your drawings I can tell you're very enthusiastic about manga, and finding a good source of inspiration that'll get you pumped to draw time and time again is very important! After all, the only way to get better is through hard work, study and practice. I think you could try to use more soft, sketchy lines to set up the groundwork of your drawings. This'll make your drawings look more smooth, flowing and lively; right now your line work is rather harsh. It'll be easier on your hands as well, as it requires a relaxed grip on your pencil. Also, don't underestimate the value of good references; often we draw what our brain tells us we see, rather than what our eyes are telling us.

Most importantly though, keep practicing, and keep having fun!
