YEY, I'm back with a tiny skeksis comic strip!!!
Not an ASK yet, but that will come rather soon, as much as next Brotherhood's page. I promise!!
This one surged from a little talk I had with some friends at a TDC fans forum ...since the Mystic counterpart of SkekTek the Scientist (UrTih the alchemist) is shown as possessing two healthy eyes and the Scientist who is bonded to him has that flaring lens permanently attached...
How is it possible, when skeksis/UrrU counterparts show the same ohysical scars, defects and wounds?...
This is the comical answer I devised for that question XD...

SkekTek: Regeneration of an organ such as an eye is but a simple matter for the crystal that sustains us. My "replacement" was merely an accelerator for such a process, and later something to help it focus better. Since these small funny comics are not correlative it isn't even mentioned why the Illustrator was sick
The fact that she had beenΒ sick only served as a fold to allow the joke to happen in this case (SkekTek the Scientist trying to check up on her with bad consequences : SkekLa's bad reaction's due to the Scientist's overall creepyness and fame of tormenting the others when he acts as a doctor for them)

I think it was never stated if the eye was truly gone or not!Β
At the novelisation he was suposed to indeed have a lens fitting an empty socket, if I remember right...and at the Pre-production notes, too. BUT, In the movie, SkekTek's counterpart has two normal and healthy eyes! So...I suspect Tek might just be putting on that lens "like a boss" XD And not because he truly needs it (tho it might really help him see better!)

Exactly! I think only the pre-production notes have ever stated Tek (and his UrRu Tih) missed an eye! But it does look like the idea didn't come through the last mis-en-scene, and even though La and most of the fans assumed Tek had just one eye, the lend might have been purely...er..."ornamental"? If we may call it so! XD
