Description Found this tree out on a field shooting other things. Lately it seems that everything I shoot is really green (it's spring after all), but this... well, it's definitely not green.

I was quite surprised when I found this tree. It stands in the middle of a field and when I got to it I saw that the ground around the tree was all mud, and closer to the tree the mud was cracked and dry... It looked very much like you said, like the tree is sucking the life from the earth.

Anyway, thank you so much for the comment and the fav! Your comments are always wonderful to read!

Thank you... I'm glad you enjoy them. I usually like to leave a more heartfelt comment. People put their art up for people to see... and to get advice. I may not be the greatest photographer or artist... but I at least will leave some feedback. Especially if I like the piece or fav it.
But yeah... this is a pretty cool picture, I think one of my favorites of yours.

did u change the colour of the earth into white?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

No, the white parts are just as they were. They are simply more dry than the surrounding mud...

Wow. Beautiful nature shot, with hints of manipulation.

For some reason this reminds me strongly of Andy Goldsworthy's work.

Slight color mainp, thats all (I think, was a long time ago).

I'm not familiar with any of Andy Goldsworthy's work but now I'm curious. Think I'll check it out is I can find any.

Thanks for the fav!

the composition is well exicuted. i like that it is not just centered at the base of the tree but that it includes alot of foreground. effective use of contrast and texture. the cracks imply a deep emotion; a falling apart or a slow destruction. it is a sad photo in some ways but i believe that the beauty of it alters that. one more thing that i like is the separation between the white salt and the brown soil, it feels like the white is spreading through the image. great photograph.

This is really a very well done photo.

I think the choice to make it black and white really adds to the dry feeling.

Actually the original shot had (except for some green spots) sligtly less color, but I do agree that the (almost) lack of color adds.

I agree, it is kind of beautiful and unnormal for spring -green and fresh and at the same time a place like that. As if something has absorbed the life of this area.

No need to thank. Art which gives me something and which really "needs" to be criticized is normally being commented by me, of course.
