Description The Shark spinodont also known as (Pumilispinus carcharias) is another member of the Pumilispinus genus. This particular animal has evolved to mimic sharks to reduce predation from sharks. The shark spinodont feeds on trilodonts, scorpidonts, crustaceans, and trilodont squids. During the breeding season (which is in spring) the males will make a sound similar to the common spinodont but with a higher pitch. After the female mates with the males they will go to the south island and clamber onto the land and lay their eggs in the savanna. After laying there are 500-674 eggs the female will waddle back to the water. Almost 95% of the young don't make it to the water. The shark spinodonts natural predators are orcas and dolphins. The shark spinodonts conservation status is endangered as they are used in Chinese medicine where their fins are used to make peoples dicks larger. There is no truth to the legend of there fins making people dicks larger.
