Description "I know how to read, I do!"

Remember the Les Mis illustration project? This is, kind of, the first picture in that. They found me an instructor after all, and she suggested I could start with some illustrations that go with the covers I made during the summer.
Here's my first attempt. It's nothing grand, but I thought it's better to try this out with something easy. What do you think?

Les Mis is not mine.

I really love the splattery paint background, it really gives the piece an interesting feel and your drawing is as wonderful as they always are!

Oh... oh, Eponine. It's so funny, and yet terribly dismal. I always want to cry at that part in the book, when she's so desperate to prove that she's educated, and she grabs a piece of paper to show Marius she can write, but writes a note she must write all too often: "The cops are here." Nice contrast here, between her confident pose and her frail, malnourished body.

Yeah, I really like this part too, pretty touching... Poor girl.

The clinging beauty is perfect, just as Hugo described her.

YES. THIS SCENE. It always makes me so sad.
But oh, I do like the way you've drawn her clothes.

Every second scene in Les Mis makes me sad. Every other makes me hysterical. Thanks!

Oh, den är bra! Vacker, men lite kuslig ocskså.
