i just don't know how to make surfaces, like skin for example, have different textures/shadows e.t.c....but thanks for your advice, i shall keep hoping...and you keep painting, you can inspire me

i'm just happy to find someone who can render elves and the other LOTR characters so beautifully, without just copying ideas from the movies. Have you done any of Arwen? I recall one of Luthien who was very Liv Tyler-esque. Have you read the Silmarillion or the new Children of Hurin? i love the character of Aredhel, and the character of Nienor.

Thanks for the kind words, if I rewatched the movies it would probably spark the urge to paint some more. I never painted lIv Tyler but in a cheeky way I painted her semblance. Yes, the Luthies one.
I have actually painted Nienoer before the children of Hurin was released! Have you seen her in my gallery. I read the book, but it took a long time until I began to really like the story.

oh yeah actually i think i recall nienor now - sorry, i'm suffering from insomnia at the moment and my memory's a sieve. Hmm, yes Tolkien's books take some work to get absorbed with LOL mostly cos of the language i guess........but it was such a sad beautiful story, about Turin and his sister

oh my... why didn't i see tihs one in your gallery before... I love it. even though you may have used Miranda Otto on a pic as reference this is more like the Eowyn like I imagines her than the movie Eowyn, it must be the eyes. magnificent work ^^

well if you practice a lot you will get better eventually and you are getting better i think. with the backgrounds and those killing borders you did on your Glorfindel piece. You must have a lot of patience.

I had strated the art trade with hher and asked which elf she'd like the answer was. Whatever - I like all your elves :-D So I thought I should at least give her a choice... Glorfindel (The one I just posted was a scetch at the time) or the twins. She opted for the twins. the at is simple but i think the effect is quite nice. i really went be the book(s) who claim that the twins were remarkably alike in stature and looks.
