Description
I finally finished my mixed media art doll of Haku--unfortunately, I finished him RIGHT before AAC, where he was raffled off, so I only have a handful of pictures and none of them very good. I'll put up a photo collage next to display his body.

Haku is needle felted over a wire armature and is gently poseable. His outer wool is a blend of merino and angora. His mane is frayed yarn. His head and feet are all resin casts of original sculpts, which were then hand-painted in acrylics and sealed with a matte varnish. The horns are apoxie sculpt and wire. His whiskers are wire and plastic and "float" around him.

A note: those of who you've met me in person may be wondering what happened to Big Haku: a few years ago, I made a gigantic (roughly 5 feet long), fully needle felted Haku who I bring to conventions. I've never put up pics in my deviantart because
I always feel like he's not 100% finished...there's always some detail or other I need to touch up first. Unfortunately, he was damaged and needs serious repairs before I can finally photograph him, but I wanted to do Small Haku first. I started this Haku project with the intent of a smaller, more reproducible, sturdier version.

His new owner was very happy with him!

Materials: Wire, multiple wool blends, felt, yarn, alumilite resin, acrylic paint, matte varnish, apoxie sculpt, [super sculpey and silicone, for the mold].
