The concept is really cool and I like the design but one thing.. I can't really tell what species it's supposed to be. I'm thinking it's a fox? I'm not really sure. I think looking up the muzzles of different animals while drawing them would make a big difference.

Yeah I totally get where you're coming from with that critique, and I really do agree. Back when I painted this I had a nasty habit of drawing all my muzzles the same way. It was a bit of a crutch for me, and it still kind of is. Now before I draw a species I tend to do some quick studies to make sure I get their faces right, instead of jumping right into it. Here is something I did more recently as an example if you're curious. ^^

Yes, I can easily tell that is a weasel type creature without having to read the description. Curious though, what is Tealeyes supposed to be?

Ooo...shiny. Very cool effect with the fire there but the shiny that really catches me is that nice effect you caught in the eyes. He just seeps with awesome vermin badness.

This looks beast.
Looking at the picture makes me think 'Werewolf. It looks like a werewolf. Possibly male.' This is just an awesome picture to look at.

Superb! Though my monitor kills all colours; you can actually see more colours if you stand up, but I'm kind of lazy at the moment.
But you made me stand up. You evil, good-art-making person.
You are getting to know pretty well the change of facial characteristics when the character is turned, that's nice to see. And, as someone above this comment said: you are getting better and better. Specially with the colouring/shading, it's awesome! The blur really helps to bring out the character.
What some people have been having trouble with is identifying the animal here... I... I don't know either. What is it? (If I must be on something, I would say tiger...).

Side comment, jumping to your "Dusk in Nicaragua" [link] , this one is good to, though not as good as usual. One needs to count time it took to do, too, so that balances the rest. Foliage is detailed , Β‘Nada mal!
Have a nice day!

Yeah I was thinking that maybe a rat is easier for him to draw in his style, hence the bigger muzzle.
Besides, there have been many animated movies where the animals aren't anatomically correct xD

Man he looks like a bad ass. He's in some way responsible for that fire, isn't he? Also the eyes look awesome contrasting with that fire.

Oooh nice fire. I like the glowy eyes too. The lighting works really well, and I know if I had drawn this, I would have been afraid to make the character so dark, which is just how he should be in this scene. One detail I notice that's really nice is how you did the reflection of the fire on his breastplate.

He looks great! The lighting makes it so sinister, I want to see more of this graphic novel idea. Now I'm intreagued about Tealeyes.

Can't be, there's no mane. I'd say wolf or, at a stretch, fox.
