myself as Mrs. Nellie Lovettworn to the second day of Comic-Con International 2009 (we didn't really do a photoshoot there, so this was taken at home
)don't pay attention to my face--just focus on the costume
basically, i already owned the skirt, shirt (which was actually a knee-length dress tucked into the skirt), gloves and corset. the only thing that was bought for this cosplay was the lace and the thigh highs. i painted the gold on the black lace that's around the neckline, and my mom sewed ALL that lace on by hand!

really fun! it was my second year going, and i went for the first two days, so i saw so much more! i met amanda palmer(of the dresden dolls) and the hillywood sisters (they are internet celebrities). tim burton and johnny depp were also there, never got to meet them though

that sounds so great. is it true you have to buy some kind of tickets to get to meet the celebreties? to get an autograph and pictures and stuff like that? aren't they just walking around like all the others?

yeah, you pick up a ticket with a number on it from a booth around the autographs section. then, before the meet and greets, they do a lottery and draw an "X" amount of tickets from the collection. if your ticket number is called, you get to meet the celebrity and get an autograph. if your number isn't' drawn, then you get nothing! that is the sucky part of their autograph section. but yes, you are right, celebrities also will just walk around the convention center and you can run into them and meet them (in fact, gerard way walked passed me there!). there also some celebrites--like amanda palmer--who do their own signings. she was signing copies of her book at a comic book company's booth. to get an autograph, you simply just had to buy the book and wait in line!

okay, that part sounds sucky, yes.
but it must me an impressive experience, worth to remember. at least i imagine it being like that (without fangirls ruining the day...?)

oh yes, there are so many things at comic-con that you will remember forever! and, fangirls are not even a problem, everyone is pretty much a fan girl there XD
